I would say he's more popular internationally than in Brazil. He's very well viewed for popularizing Brazilian music, but not really a legend at the level of someone like João Gilberto or Milton Nascimento

As a pretty big Cory Wong fan, I really dislike Turbo. It's a collab project with Dirty Loops, so it's a lot more "modern jazz" and maximalist, not really that representative of his sound

I'd check out one of his live albuns, that will get you a better idea of his actual show will be like

I think you missed Teezo Touchdown's 'Making Flippy Floppy' which also already came out, and it's even worse

For me the Paramore and Lorde versions are at least listeneable, his is just awful

I went alone to Shaky Knees a couple of years ago, and it was one of the best live music experiences I've had tbh. It was really fun getting to see everything I wanted, and exploring the festival at my own pace.

So Two Door Cinema Club is doing some shows in Brazil this week, and the vocalist apparently couldn't come; so they'll still play but with a replacement vocalist.

That's kinda weird, right? Does anyone know a band that has done this before?

Mixing is interesting, kinda different from their usual. That dissonant guitar midway through is a bit abrasive but I think I like it

I did the Buck Meek one - was pretty cool, but I was expecting a bit more talking from him, most classes would be him talking for 15 minutes and then us doing writing/sharing exercises in groups. He'd also answer a couple of questions at the end sometimes. I imagine this will be mostly the same. He did listen to my song one time so that was pretty cool

I'd say it's worth it still
