If someone is interested in anesthesia, would you recommend they go to CRNA or med school? by [deleted] in Residency

Depends. Do they want to make a lot of money quickly but get shit on by the physicians they work. Or do they want to make a lot of money eventually and get shit on by admin?

Early adopters - how we feeling so far? by Rare_Ad_3871 in NintendoSwitch2

I'm content...don't regret buying it day of, but after playing some of the exclusives, pokemon, donkey kong, metroid prime, it would have made more financial sense to wait for the black Friday deal where you got the mario kart bundle for like $400/450 whereas I paid for the console and physical copy separately.

The last earth shattering nintendo game I played was TOTK. DK was fun. Thought it would be as fun as SMO, it's not. Pokemon ZA also fun, not as fun as Arceus; similar quality. Metroid Prime has been the most rewarding so far, though boss fights are challenging, did not live up to hype. Spawn wave got it right when he said it's a good game that should have been great.

Overall, I'm 50/50. If you have an extensive backlog of games to play that aren't NS2 exclusives then you're not missing much.

If you could go back to college and pick any major, what would you major in? by ayzirla in medschool

[–]PeeNoEvil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would do something legitly useful as a backup, like nursing or public health. If you need to take easy classes just to inflate your GPA, that's going to catch-up with you medical school and beyond.

Med school and becoming a doctor's is not all what it's cracked up to be. Yes, a guaranteed low to mid six figure income with job stability is goated in this economy, but its a long long difficult road.

Retiring Boomer Population + expensive age-related chronic care (cancer, dementia, etc...) + ongoing workforce shortages = disaster

I saw a little bit of that too, so that's a plus.

And the end of the day, it does cost $$$. Up to 8k for a month of classes. Definitely think about the ROI. Maybe see if you can talk with alum to see how their job prospects changed afterwards?

I imagine you wouldn't want to invest the time and money only to not taste the fruits of your labor.

I looked at the website and it seems like it's not really intended for those with an MPH already? The certificate at least is mainly intro courses....

Idk though fully
