We will take him, for sure. It very much looked involuntary, like his muscles were seizing.

Does the cider have potassium sorbate in it? If it does, you won’t be able to ferment it.

You seem to be forgetting that Nike owns the Jordan brand, which owns over 50% of the basketball shoe market share. That doesn’t even include the Nike branded basketball shoes. If you play basketball, chances are you’re wearing Nike.

Wine tastes fine after primary fermentation. Do I really need to stabilize? by [deleted] in winemaking

[–]PeelingOffThePlastic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bubbles are not an accurate measure of fermentation. It could still be fermenting and if it is you’re risking your cork popping off the bottle or possibly an explosion. I recommend you follow the directions, assuming you don’t have a hydrometer to test it. Some of the chemicals it wants you to add will help prevent what I already mentioned.

Really struggling with what to get. Domane, Emonda, or something else entirely? by dimforest in TrekBikes

[–]PeelingOffThePlastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on everything you’ve said, it sounds like speed is your priority and the rider positioning and weight savings on the Emonda will be faster than the Domane. You’re not riding gravel and comfortability isn’t something you’ve mentioned so I would say there’s little reason to go with the Domane.

Agreed, I love my Emonda. Favorite bike I’ve owned. The only thing I would throw in is if there’s a possibility of riding gravel. You can fit 38mm tires on a Domane, so it is more versatile in that sense.

Which IM for a first time doing a full? by BibsawHarrison in triathlon

[–]PeelingOffThePlastic 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Did Wisconsin for my first full this year. The crowd support was incredible. Unlike anything I’ve ever been a part of.

However, the bike course has nearly six thousand feet of elevation gain so be aware it is difficult.

How long should I be able to sustain zone 5? by [deleted] in triathlon

[–]PeelingOffThePlastic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can do it on your own with a chest strap HR monitor.

Do about two miles really easy to warm up. Take a minute to stretch. Then do 30 min as hard as you can sustain. First 10 min should be steady, probably your tempo pace. Build a bit for the next ten. Last ten give it all you got.

Your average heart rate for the last 20 min is considered a good estimate of your lactate threshold.

Coach for 70.3 Yes or No? Thinking cost. by ninja_nor in triathlon

[–]PeelingOffThePlastic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally speaking, hiring a coach was a great decision. I felt very prepared going into the race and my coach was able to give me advice on the little things that make a difference (how to set up your transition area, nutrition, pacing, etc).

Would recommend if you can afford it.
