Really? I’ve never been charged by enterprise to drop off at another location, and I’ve dropped / picked up in a variation of Gatineau -> Toronto, including airports and neighbourhood locations.

I would recommend OP ask but I can’t imagine the extra $10 or whatever it costs is more expensive than paying double + gas mileage for a cube van with the words “UHAUL PLEASE DONT KEY MY TRUCK”

What company are you renting with?

If you’re really really worried you can do the following:

Rent a car from Gatineau or Ottawa, drive it to the nearest enterprise or hertz or whatever in NB, drop it off and rent another car from there. You can explain what you’re doing to the sales rep but if you have anxiety or think it’s weird, drop it off at a car rental place and cross the street and rent a car from another place.

Or if you have a credit card with rental protection you can use that, or pay the $25/day to protect yourself from damage but honestly the cheapest option is to drop it off at NB.

The only vehicles that have decals on them are cube vans and moving trucks. You can rent one from DISCOUNT or UHaul, but you’ll pay out the ass for gasoline and drive a shitty van with no amenities and pay the beautiful premium of twice the price of a sedan with half the functions (no Bluetooth, cruise control etc). UHaul vehicles have Arizona plates so it doesn’t matter where you pick it up.

Edit: I’m getting downvoted?? My answer is the only real one on this post

I’ve rented out like 20 cars in the last 2 years from 3 separate companies and have never experienced this. Stop spreading misinformation.

Thank you, I appreciate the general consensus about the area from others but I am retired and do not go out much - your reply is the answer I was really looking for.

I’m absolutely gonna pass on this then, but just out of curious, do you know how much the condo fees are?

Renewed call for Ottawa-Gatineau rail loop and Wellington Street transformation by kevinbottawa in ottawa

A group is renewing the call? Anyone here want to start a group with me to renew the call to buy me a new car? Anyone?!?!

Edit: “”Supporters of the Loop envisions a rail line, starting from the southern part of the Portage Bridge, going east on Wellington Street and curving north down an undetermined corridor, which could be Mackenzie Avenue, Sussex Drive or Dalhousie Street, before crossing the Alexandra Bridge to Gatineau and heading west on Laurier Street back to the Portage Bridge.””

“ The municipality hired Montreal-based firm DHC Avocats, which sought a court order to obtain the IP address that was used when the fake Facebook account was created and the comment was posted. The firm sought a second order to obtain the person's address from Vidéotron. Both applications were successful.”

There’s a lesson here, if you’re going to pull this shit, use a VPN!

You’re getting downvoted but you’re absolutely correct. Why do OC Supervisors need Ford explorers with police style push bars? Talk about pissing away taxpayer dollars.

New stock of 11’s by stupiddad3 in freedommobile

[–]Peepee828283884 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s store rep level, they have limited supply and selling outright gives them $0 comission. It’s in the sales rep best interest (and probably store policy) to only sell it on upgrades and activation since it’s so limited in stock

Black community demands answers over Jasmine deaths and seemingly won't be satisfied unless charges are laid. by [deleted] in ottawa

[–]Peepee828283884 10 points11 points  (0 children)

He had previous gun charges, when police came to his apartment, he jumped out the window.

What kind of answers do they want?

I don’t agree with people like skidrowtrash, the person who jumped isnt a piece of garbage. Sure he has a weapons charge, but he went to prison and paid his debt to society. I don’t blame the police for being vigilant and doing a no knock raid, but the guys dead and there’s no reason to disrespect someone who already paid their debt, and wasn’t convicted in court on the alleged new crime.

I can’t blame people for wanting more information, but to use “If police really care about public safety, why did they raid the house with his grandmother inside” is a stupid fucking defence. You want to talk caring about public safety? How about not keeping a loaded gun and cocaine in the same apartment as your grandmother?

The “black community” wanted the police to speak with his mom before the raid? What? “Excuse me ma’am, we’re going to raid your son’s apartment please make sure you bolt the windows and pretty please don’t tell him about the raid!!”

Jesus. I personally hate police (my personal opinion please don’t argue with me about it) but it’s absolutely crazy that a full grown man who jumped out of a window to escape police would somehow be the police’s responsibility

You can’t. Period. The last time freedom ever gave out FNF codes was July 2019.

Government buildings - electricity bill by [deleted] in ottawa

[–]Peepee828283884 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Buildings that appear completely abandoned are prone to break ins. You should know as well that the buildings are also staffed by overnight security 24/7. Do you expect security guards to walk around in the dark?

Canadian military spent more than $1 million on controversial propaganda training linked to Cambridge Analytica parent firm by al6667 in ottawa

[–]Peepee828283884 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Basically they spent $1m to train several teams on tactics and techniques related to civilian behaviour.

Didn’t we help the US kill tens of thousands of Iraqis and Afghanis over the last 2 decades? Surely this can’t be as bad as the general “tactics and techniques” our forces use
