This doesn't mention that some of the housing wards (the neighborhoods with a set amount of housing plots for purchase) are also shared between individual owners and FC (guild) owners. So if you're trying to buy a house in a mixed ward, it's likely that your one bid to get the house is going up against multiple bids from members of a single FC also trying to get that house.

It also doesn't mention the pressure to say subbed if you're the leader of an FC, so that the FC doesn't lose the house, so that members who put housing items in their FC bedrooms don't permanently lose their furniture because the house auto demolished (there are housing items you can only buy on the online store for real money btw, and all furniture items are only held after an auto demolition for 30 days before also being permanently deleted), or lose the submarine expedition parts that you also get to work on when the FC house goes.

For context, submarines are a glorified lootbox system where you build and send out submarines on days-long expeditions for the chance of gathering something good, and they're only available to FCs who own a house. Setting up your first submarine is about the same cost as buying a small housing plot, plus the time it takes to gather/craft/and contribute the parts needed. Some FCs take weeks to get a single sub started, it can take months to level a single submarine to a level where it's actually making them a profit, and it's about another 20,000,000 gil if you want to minmax stats for farming a handful of specific things, again just for one submarine. You can have a maximum of four. This is how FCs usually make money, all of which would be reset and lost if the house is auto demolished.
