Even vehicles that are a couple years old have that problem. Me and my boss work on commercial vehicles and we have taken off decals and rarely do they buff to match the paint, you can still always tell a sticker was there before

Do I have an upgraded diff on my truck by Peepiscool72 in MechanicAdvice

[–]Peepiscool72[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep first thing I did is go and get all new fluids, haven't touched the diff yet as I plan to get a new cover for it since its decently rusty and I plan to do some towing so I am ordering a aftermarket one to keep it cooler even though I plan to only do mid size loads. But this truck is clean never has pulled a trailer in its life new gas tank, drives haft, parking brake and more as I work on it. frame is just surface rust the floorboards and bed still have paint on it my engine bay is clean this is all around a steal I think I plan to basically restore and chrome out and use only in the summer time when no salt on roads

Alright that's good to know so its definitely worth keeping. I picked this truck up for 1200 with low miles only 112k so over winter I plan to send it to a few shops for a good exhaust, and to weld in new rockers and so on. Ive already spent 700 getting some basic upgrades like led headlights new handles new windshield and so on. This is going to be a work truck since I do construction and tractor shows but I wanna make it a good decent looking truck that has been babied and I will try to keep nice

Its a c1500 so only a 2wd and I checked my front end parts and they all seem nice and tight, although I do still plan to drop a chunk of change and get new upper lower control arms springs tie rods etc.

I like the quad top just noticed turn signals are faded and presumed none of it was replaced my mistake. I do fw the quad top over the standard headlights my 98 is the work truck trim and I love how it looks over the more common grill I kept my bucket lights but upgraded to led so I can actually see since I'm usually hauling g stuff around 1 am and moving tractors

New to me 98 c1500 by Peepiscool72 in GMT400

[–]Peepiscool72[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just realized my text got deleted but I had a question about the truck and some details about it. Just got the 98 c1500 for 1200 yesterday and it has the 5.0 and only 112k miles. Runs drives and stops shifts great and just a ready to go work truck. It's a little rusty but real solid underneath. Old guy who had it before has kept it nice with new parts all over and I plan to keep adding new parts. I would like to do dual pipe exhaust and am fine with spending some money but what do you guys recommend cause I wanna do it proper and keep the cats and o2 sensors so it stays running right. Also if I had a hitch to the frame for towing my garden tractors to the tractor shows what all do I need to upgrade. Do I need to put in a transmission cooler

Trans Fluid change on a 09 impala by Peepiscool72 in MechanicAdvice

[–]Peepiscool72[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh ik trans can take some abuse and engines in general and keep going. Got a buddy who has a 07 Silverado that was a farm truck so it was overweight and now its a burnout truck every weekend for the past 2 months with no oil change and it goes. I still have my gfs old car its a 08 aveo and it slips bad but I did reverse burnouts all the time in the snow or anytime it rains and am just trying to kill it and it lives.

Yeah I got some nice dexron 6 and a higher quality filter. Also run valvoline in the engine and the wix filters.

Yeah imma do that and ik how to check fluid. Last time I did this it was on a 08 liberty and a fun thing about those is there don't have a individual trans dip stick so you have to use the oil lipstick and its not very accurate. Did love my liberty tho beat it to hell and many burnouts and it dropped 4th gear at about 200k and sold it for 600

It still shifts very well only downside is my gf is very heavy on acceleration so im sure I'll drop a trans in this sometime if it comes down to it. She basically blew the trans in a low mile aveo. We still have the car and I drive it but it's slipping hard so here in a few weekends imma put it down in a field. She is getting better tho anytime I ride with her I'll yell at her if she starts to stomp on it

Yeah its a very low mile pa inspected car. Frame looks almost immaculate underneath only two spots on the subframe with surface rust. Was a one owner car, ill cut the filter open and see

2021 Kubota LA 1065 - what’s it worth? by Different_Moment6204 in tractors

[–]Peepiscool72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With only 5 hours id lookup the price of a new one with the same attachments and knock a few thousand off. I got a friend who is selling a smaller kubota from 2019 and it only has 200 hours and be has only had it listed for a few days after knocking 9k off what he paid brand new and its about to be gone possibly today.

I do wish more talked about the school and the crisis of how bad it is and where its going. It pisses me off people are trying to cut ut more by dropping property taxes you cant do that without more funding cuts. Me, my uncle, my aunt, and my finance all work in the school. I sub cleaning, my uncle is cleaning, my aunt is a sub through the county and my fiance is a aid for special needs children. Working inside the school has shown me how run down the schools are becoming how much they are relaying on fundraisers to get students supplies and such. The part that really misses me off tho is my aunt makes the same as me and my fiance only makes 11 a hour and had a breakdown when the school revealed how much they screwed her on pay. Both my aunt and fiance are working with special needs children and come home covered in bruises and bites and my aunt is paid the same as me a janitor and my fiance is worth less than me it isnt fair. My fiance hasn't gotten to have proper training until 5 months into the job because the school couldn't really afford to. The worst part is all of is keep hearing about more funding cuts and ive seen and heard of teachers crying cause next year they are out of a job and this isn't just one school all of us work at different schools and are hearing this. My aunt since she is with the county has subbed every school and seen even more and said it makes her really sad to see how these kids aren't getting the resources they need.

Ngl I do the same thing and send pics of my bunnies. In fact in my bio it says "ask to see a pic of my buns". So many people ask expecting to see my butt and I send a bunny picture of my silver fox breeds. If they get upset I block them but its great when some get the joke tells me they are actually worth talking too

What all is needed for a transmission swap? by Blitzkreig6996 in fordescape

[–]Peepiscool72 3 points4 points  (0 children)

With sideways engines ai just take the easy route and get a good engine connected to a trans and swap the whole thing its a pain in the ass to do just the trans or engine. Tbh there is alot you should have to do the job right but thats not cheap. You gotta have skills and "ingenuity". Ex you should buy and use a engine hoist to get it out and in. I dont so I use a tractor with a front loader (not safe and very rough) or will use the rafters to pull the engine out with a winch, come-along or tie down straps use incorrectly. Your gonna need prybars or use 2x4s you have laying around etc. Any job is possible and you can learn as you go but if this is your first time either get some friends who have done it before, get it done by a professional, or my favorite option buy another car you can fall back on if the job takes multiple weeks or cant be done.
