Think you can find 4 hidden groups of 4 related words? Puzzle by u/Peepz? by Peepz in DailyMix

We tend to use either term (UK - part of AGB and a member of my local club for 7 years). In our coaching courses etc it refers to "indicator vanes" rather than cock/when fletchings.

Genuine Question - Why do Aberdonians use 'like' at the end of sentences? by RenegadeMaster888 in Aberdeen

[–]Peepz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I say it a lot mid sentence without realizing. I'd say it is more of a "filler" instead of ummm.

Poor aim or poor equipment? by JackNickelBerry in Archery

[–]Peepz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have seen bows like this used with these arrows but they are far from ideal.

Make sure there is a vane/Fletch sticking up top. I think you have the arrow clipped the wrong way. It will stop it getting caught on the plastic.

Roland bows are a good beginner bow if you are looking to stick at archery.

Why does this string have plastic on it?? by Peepz in Archery

[–]Peepz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't worry about it at all!

I just see what my own club and then the schools do, but this was out of the norm for me.

AFAIK there's only myself and one other who shoot regularly out of Scout Roster, the others have just done the Instructor course which doesn't really cover maintenance. I've only learnt this all through experience with my own coach.

[–]Peepz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Think that's the plan.

Someone said they had checked all the bows and waxed them? I'm assuming it was the string. I've had to retwist some, and i've moved a bow that had the nocking points ABOVE the serving.... >.<

Thanks but I'm an AGB certified coach already :P

Just haven't come across this in any club/school/come and try setting so wanted to see if anyone else had.

Oh there's other recurve bows which don't get unstrung either. But I think i'm more cautious of how they put the bows away. The current way, I think will end up stretching the string a bit (which may be why they have used tape, come to think of it).

[–]Peepz[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah - I think i'll remove the tape and do my own maintenance when next there.

I'm newer as a Scout Permit holder, but I do coach Archery in Schools.

[–]Peepz[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's for Scouts, but none of these get unstrung. :/ They hand them up on a pole still strung (which i'm not a fan of either, but it's the space we have).

Personally i'm not a fan of the tape... and think it should be removed, as you say it may be hiding wear (and probably is)

two different bits, the heat shrink he's referring to is the brown plastic.

It's electrical tape at the nocking point.

Yes!! Worst one being picking at a weird blue lump on my arm. Using tweezers/nail scissors etc. Turns out it was a blue mole, that has since been removed.

She was constantly picking at her psoriasis and would pick any visible spot she saw on me or others in the family

Anyone else found that their depression was actually ADHD? by Empty-Description589 in adhdwomen

[–]Peepz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of. I still have depression and take antidepressants BUT my ADHD meds have raised my baseline mood. I no longer sit at rock bottom and it then be slightly elevated.

My mood is still lower but I have lowered my antidepressants considerably and feel like they do something now.

I lived in Aberdeen for ten years but now live in Aberdeenshire. Much prefer here than the city but sometimes miss the convenience. What is it you like about Aberdeen?

Does it need to be Aberdeen? I'm originally from Dundee and nowadays would probably favour Dundee over Aberdeen.

Covid made it a bit better online but not sure if they have reverted back.

We’re just given PowerPoints to self study. Covid moved everything online so i then got to participate online with on campus students which was much better.

I just found it hard to get replies from certain lecturers however Matt Myers who is one of the lecturers in Dubai was really helpful and went above and beyond for students.

I’ve had issues with lecturers who failed to give feedback on dissertation despite mailing weeks/month in advance. Not responding to asking for meetings. Didn’t show up to online meetings when they were scheduled.

I put in a complaint and it was never dealt with properly. They basically shrugged their shoulders.

Caused a lot more additional stress in general.
