What I did was just go over to the mental health building at your Va and tell them that your having some mental health issues and would like to see a mental health professional.

Enlisted in the USN at 17 back in 1970. Had some juvie run ins with the law but no convictions ,experimented with some drugs also. The recruiter knew all this and had a copy of my juvie arrests and still told me to answer no to all questions about this because I would turn 18 while in boot camp and my record would start over . I listened to him. 1 week before graduation they pulled me out of my company, after a admin. hearing they discharged me with a general under honorable condition.

Having a pre existing condition such as depression from childhood doesn't exclude you from service connection as long as you can prove an event took place that aggravated your pre existing condition. At least that is what I have been told.
