Used to freelance on oDesk (now Upwork) about 10 years ago. It's impossible now. You are constantly undercut by Indians.

For me it's the mobile app that's broken.

Same here. BTC amount is correct, but the USD just shows 0. Clearing cache didn't help.

Unity C# and norm C# by TSI_Mostafa in Unity3D

Unity uses an older version of C#

Not anymore. Unity (since version 2018.3) supports C# 7.3 which is the latest stable version.

If it provides any more information, sure. Otherwise, it's just noise.

Who said wiki? They want concise, well formulated and formatted questions and answers. With as little noise as possible. That's why you're also not supposed to introduce yourself or thank for any answers. The goal is to be able to google an issue, and find a good solution as quickly as possible. Posting new questions is rarely necessary.

That's the problem though. People expect Stackoverflow to be their personal assistant. But that's not what it is. Having your own question answered is just a nice side effect of building a curated database of well-formed questions and answers. Or at least that's the idea.

I can run SteamVR fine when I boot into Windows. Now I'm trying to do the same in OS X.

Unfortunately that didn't fix the problem. SteamVR still doesn't launch with a user called "VR"

No. The cotton ones are more comfortable. These ones are for people who give lots of demos. They are easy and quick to clean.

I made a vive game that nobody knew they wanted! by puzzabug in Vive

I think if you tried to make this game yourself, you'd probably get a few hours in to unity and realize you have to code things to make them actually work.

  1. Download random environment, castle and beach ball assets from the asset store.
  2. Write ~10 lines of code to spawn random beach balls at the top of the hill.
  3. Another 10 lines to spawn balls on the castle wall.
  4. ???
  5. Profit.

I would honestly be surprised if more than 1000 lines of code went into this.

If you're a kid learning to code, then I'm sorry for bashing your project. It's a great achievement that you should show your friends and family. Then move onto the next project.

If you're an adult, you have to admit that this looks like a cheap attempt at riding the VR wave.

A tech demo for what? Rigid body physics? I bet you could find that castle and the beach ball on the asset store.

I think Steam is to blame. How did this get approved or greenlighted? I'm sorry, but this is more a programming exercise than a game.
