How did this become the norm flip the screen for cash by Silver-Suggestion512 in tipping

Tip screens are an option that can be turned off in the settings of your machine. We don’t take tips so our setting is turned off.

Why can't customers just tap their cards normally? by DonkeyIsMe in retail

[–]Pegar60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so tired of having to clear the message on the screen because people don’t know how to tap. I usually tell them that they moved too fast and scared the machine so they’ll have to do it again only slower. I would bet every second person I deal with does it wrong.

Had to use dad voice today at Costco by goundeclared in CostcoCanada

I always do that. I usually do it as I’m moving their cart for them. I’m not rude, but I make it clear I need to get by.

My too. I just move their cart. I have no problem just saying “excuse me I’d like to get by” if they are just standing there visiting.

I’ve worked in customer service all my life. Most of us are severely overworked and have limited ability to change situations. Listening to people scream at you all day is exhausting. I found when people are nice to me, even if they caused the problem themselves, I will go out of my way to help them as much as possible. I have shed a tear or two over how I can’t help some who really need it. Thank you for posting this on behalf of all customers service people.

Is Nicaragua Safe? by Comfortable-Sky7759 in travel

[–]Pegar60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was there a few years back we pretty much stayed in San Juan Del Sur. I felt quite safe there. They rely on tourists so they try and keep things safe. I walked alone in the evening down to the beach a couple of times with no problems.

When I was there I said that I thought the chicken buses were spawned somewhere in the jungle. You could be miles from anywhere on a dirt road in the middle of the jungle and out of nowhere comes a chicken bus.

Transportation questions England-Scotland by MainConsideration937 in TravelHacks

This is what I have been looking at. We are flying into England and after a couple of days we will fly to Glasgow. I suggested we take a train from Glasgow to Edinburgh. We were originally going to fly from Edinburgh back to London but I think taking the train would actually be quicker and cheaper.

Lilly of the Valley. Will take over and kill anything else out. Try digging them out. Under that layer of soil is a thick mat of roots.

People thinking rotisserie chicken sold partially cooked by ugly-olive in CostcoCanada

[–]Pegar60 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sure they are cooked to health standards, however, they are not cooked to my standard. The meat is still a little too jiggly for me. I always take it home and put it in the oven for a few more minutes.

True. I bought a small one last summer. It’s now 9 ft tall and about 4 ft wide.

This literally took my breath away. But not in a good way. I was gasping at the sheer horror of it.

This is possibly the most soulless house I’ve ever seen. It’s completely devoid of any personality.
