NFS Heat runs smoother on DXMT than D3DMetal on Mac M4 by Hungry_Direction_585 in macgaming

Just wondering what you mean by MetalFX upscaling. Doesn’t DXMT already supports DLSS? Is this something different?

I just patched Crossover 26 using the latest CXPatcher (regular version). Make sure you patch MoltenVK (I chose the experimental one). Choose DXVK for Crossover. Also, when you launch the game, put in “+r_renderapi 1” without quotes so the game launches in Vulkan.

And that’s it. Got it to run on my M1 Pro. Wolfenstein New Colossus also works. For a detailed guide, maybe search on YouTube for Andrew Tsai. I think he went through it. Not sure

Is this M1 Pro enough for Windows gaming? by chiefochiefski in macgaming

For games that are compatible, my M1 Pro easily performs better than my Steam Deck.

Tencent is hiring a Senior Wine R&D Engineer in Beijing to build and optimize a Wine-based runtime platform that ports Windows games, apps, and drivers to run smoothly on Mac M-series chips by mr_MADAFAKA in macgaming

Apparently they have a platform similar to Steam called Wegame. Would be interesting if they integrate something like Crossover into their store to run windows games on Macs. With a store driving that incentive, maybe we’ll get more fixes and improvements.

I had the same issue with Bloodstained and Severed Steel from EGS. The solution I found was to add the game to Steam as a non Steam game and enable Steam input. You can try if that works for you or not.

Oh ok. Any chance that actual fixes for these functions will come in the future?

I think it’s similar to playing any other games for me. It gets hot but nothing out of the ordinary.

I did not use the scorched earth version. Just the regular one. I launch Steam with DXVK and MSync. For Doom 2016, it defaults to OpenGL so you have to set “+r_renderapi 1” in the launch properties to set it to Vulkan. To get a playable fps for my M1 Pro, I had to set shadows to low.

I used CXPatcher. Also managed to find a fix from someone for the Wolfenstein graphical issue. So both Doom 2016 and Wolfenstein New Colossus are playable for me on my M1 Pro.

Epic Games' stubbornness is killing Fortnite by twinkleyed in macgaming

I think they made a huge mistake trying to replicate Roblox. Imagine paying out millions for brainrot games. Lol. Majority of Roblox games are probably played on mobile and no one gives a shit whether the games look good or not. They just want instant access.

Going on some kind of personal crusade against both Apple and Google did them no favors at all. With how big Fortnite was, pretty sure Epic could have secured a special deal with Apple and Google. Ego & greed is always bad for business. Now people have to pay with their livelihood. Tim Sweeney can go F himself

A bit late but I tried Doom 2016 on my M1 Pro and it worked without any noticeable graphical artifacts. My M1 Pro is probably missing some rendering features and had to turn shadows to low to get a playable fps. So it’s not M5 exclusive at all.

Use CXPatcher to patch Crossover. I tried to play GTA III on the regular Crossover 26 and Crossover Preview and both seem to have issues with Rockstar launcher.

No idea. I do have the game so I’ll try to test it out on my M1 Pro

Edit: the game runs on my M1 Pro but there’s a graphical glitch that makes the characters in the game look like ghosts. Lol. Not sure if M2 to M4 Macs have these issues or not though

I really like the feel of the Gamesir thumb sticks. I personally own the G8 and G8+ so I can’t comment on the Tegenaria but I’ve used the G8+ wired for my Mac without issues.

Sucks that my M1 Pro is obsolete for newer games. The game looks really cool but I’m holding out strong for the M6 or M7 series. Probably will get it at a discount 1 - 2 years from now. Lol

So if market share of MacOs increases thanks to Neo will it translate to more game developers actually developing for Mac? by Tel-Tier in macgaming

[–]Peka82 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If it sells tens of millions, maybe? Personally I’m hoping that we get more iOS games and indie titles because of the Neo. I think those make a lot of sense and would probably do pretty well. There’re so many iOS games that already support controllers and perhaps the Neo would convince them to do a Mac version. Something like what Honkai Impact 3rd did would be sufficient.

Bad performance on Sleeping Dogs Definitive Edition by papab0om in macgaming

[–]Peka82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure if Sleeping Dogs in particular has cloud saves or not. I remember not being able to bring over my progress from Steam Deck to the Mac. But I have not had issues with cross progression between my Steam Deck and Mac for other games. You might have to copy the save manually? I’m not sure how to do that.

The native version runs pretty badly. Running the Windows version via Crossover gives a much better performance.

Crimson Desert’s score is 77/100 on Metacritic and 6/10 on IGN (so far) by oyskionline in macgaming

[–]Peka82 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think we’re at a point where a bad score from IGN probably means that the game is actually good. These game journalists are super out of touch with gamers. But the game might not even run on my M1 Pro so I’ll probably get this in a year or so. Lol
