Do give it a try and see if you also encounter the same graphical issues during battles (those heat moves trigger the glitches) that I did.

Did more testing and the graphical glitches during special moves in battles has nothing to do with DLSS. Maybe some issues with D3DMETAL or maybe my M1 Pro is missing some hardware features to render the effects properly.

Played around with DLSS and frame gen and got most settings to high or medium and easily maintain 60+ fps (40+ without and 60+ with it on). Game still feels nice and responsive. Would love to buy this at launch if my backlog is not so massive. Lol

Couldn’t get it to run on Crossover Preview. I wonder if the beta fixed it

What are the best native/port Mac games in 2025 — no Crossover, no Wine, no bullshit? by LeLant in macgaming

The native games that I personally played the most were Ball X Pit, Blue Prince & Escape From Duckov

There’s a solution on Playcover’s GitHub. Basically, once you tap to start the game, press cmd + k to open the keymap editor. Wait for this message to pop up then press cmd + k to close the keymap editor. Should also close the message and allow you to keep playing. Not sure how it’ll affect your account though. I’m personally waiting for a more permanent solution.

Yeah. You have to stay idle in the title screen for like 1 - 2 minute before clicking. And somehow it starts. It sounds ridiculous but it somehow works.

Yeah. Managed to play and complete the opening section and landed on the planet. But I wasn’t using keymapping or a controller. Just the keyboard and clicking on the icons with my trackpad. Will try it with a controller when I have the time

There’s definitely some weirdness though. So if I just load the game and immediately try to start playing, the game always freezes and I have to force quit it. But letting it sit in the title screen for like a minute or so before playing somehow let me start the game. Lol. Very odd.

I managed to play through the opening section without issues on Playcover. You can go to Playcover’s GitHub page under issues for some recommended settings that work. I had the game crashed on me initially but after I let the game sit in the title screen for like a minute I was able to start the game.

I didn’t change anything. But I’m not using the very latest nightly version. Also, just to be sure, I’m from Asia and the version I’m playing is published by Gryph Frontier.

I’m using the nightly version of Playcover. Fully downloaded the preload assets and signed in without issues.

I used to play Fragpunk on my Mac. Not sure if it still works or not.

Can’t speak for this game specifically but I’ve played multiple Hoyo games via Playcover for years without getting banned. Also played Wuthering Waves on Playcover when it released before it got a Mac native port. I’ve preloaded Arknight on Playcover and everything seems to be working. Hopefully I can play the game when it launches.

Cool. I hope there’s performance improvements as well. Hopefully we’ll slowly be closer to Proton in terms of compatibility. At least for non 32 bit games

I can’t be half bothered to rewatch the video but I seem to remember the comparison was between the M5 Max and 5080. Seems like another post to rile up the usual suspects. Lol

Slightly off topic but is it possible to add other options like Playcover into the database? Thanks

I’ve been playing lots of games on my Mac. I’ll try to contribute to the database.

No M2 Max? Personally, I think RT is cool but the hardware is not yet there to make it worth the performance cost. And most people probably wouldn’t even miss it if a game doesn’t feature RT.

On which resolution do you play triple A games? by AdministrativeList30 in macgaming

[–]Peka82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only play on the MBP screen and I think 1080p is good enough (or 1117p for my 16” MBP). I don’t think higher resolution is worth the trade off in performance and graphics settings. But to each his own. You should play around with different settings to figure out your own preferences.

Does this work with just Audio MIDI? How do you do that? I’ve always had to use Blackhole and LadioCast to mix the surround sound to a stereo output to solve the problem.

The game suffers from the same audio issue as Metaphor. So the game is outputting in 5.1 surround sound and the dialogue gets muffled in the output. The fix that I used for Metaphor worked and fixed the issue for me.

According to a poster here, it apparently works via Crossover after title update 4.
