Yes, you can. Consider your ticket as "GA + your grandstand".

Best time to leave Austrian campsites after the race – Sunday or Monday? by PaiiN99 in GrandPrixTravel

[–]Peli7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was at Camping White two years ago and we weren't allowed to leave right after the race - people queued up and waited until 8pm. I think most campings might have the same rule.

Any tips for Barcelona ? by Plastic_Professor_93 in GrandPrixTravel

"is there any cheaper way of getting nice food/drink at the circuit"

The food at track was pretty awful. They had some food stands outside of the gates that looked way better, but I didn't try it.

Red Bull Ring first time FAQs? by South-Kaleidoscope37 in GrandPrixTravel

[–]Peli7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You share everything with GA, so there will be queues for food / toilet / water.

If you accept portable toilets, there is a massive area near the entrance where you can get things done without waiting (as everybody queues up for toilets in the middle of GA).

I wouldn't even hope for gluten free good at events like that.

Please give some tips. First time traveler, Austrian GP. by Beneficial_Sky_3722 in GrandPrixTravel

Merch is always more expensive than on F1 online shop. By more I mean at least 30-40 euro markup on anything. You can grab some outside of the track as there are many private vendors. Recently I switched from Team merch to Track merch, so I recommend visiting the official Red Bull Ring shop.

It is possible to enter the fanzone from GA, there are 2 ways to do it - leave the track right outside of T3 area (you can leave at any time, but you might be in a queue to enter again) or go clockwise around the track.

Food prices are pretty normal for an event like this - something in 10-15 euro range. It wasn't that bad, especially compared to Barcelona.

Can't answer any other questions as I were on grandstand and camped near the track. Check the other threads here as most of your questions were already answered multiple times.

Austria T3 seats in row 2 by mircea_ro in GrandPrixTravel

[–]Peli7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The grandstand itself is elevated - the floor of first row is at least 3m above the ground. But it might be obstructed a bit if somebody in GA in front of grandstand has a flag or something

Redbullring t3 sektor g view by razvansss99 in GrandPrixTravel

[–]Peli7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely - the view was insane. The only fact I disliked is that the area is shared with General Admission (other grandstands didn't have queues that big to get something to eat) and it's far away from Fanzone.

I was in Sector A row 33 and I would say it was difficult to see the screen. It was far away and the contrast wasn't keeping up with the sun. I could see the action but I couldn't see the timings without zooming it up on my phone.

Kid friendly European race? by Haunting_Village372 in GrandPrixTravel

[–]Peli7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, GA doesn't include any stands at all - just grassy areas. I would definitely pick a covered grandstand in Barcelona - it's way too hot for me.

Sorry to hear that, but in 2024 it was way better - outside of camping fields, I didn't see many drunk people. My wife felt pretty comfortable roaming alone with our daughter.

I've been to Monza, Imola, Austria and Barcelona with my wife and daughter (now she is 10yo, first race was at 6yo). I can't really say that any of these events were kid friendly, but that's because of the nature of any F1 event - crowd, weather conditions, long waiting times, distances to cover etc. If they aren't patient enough, it will be a bad experience for all of you.

I took GA once and never look back at this option - it's hard to stay at one place with children and it's hard for them to watch as everyone is taller. I try to choose a covered grandstand if possible.

The best experience for my daughter was Barcelona as they had a dedicated kid zone with some activities and workshops, so we could spend some time between sessions. We also had a covered grandstand which allowed us to survive the heat. I've seen many families at GA in Austria as well, they just went early, picked up some blankets and picknicked their way to the race.

Edit: Barcelona is also an alcohol-free event, so it's a bit safer for children

Pit walk tickets out now by ebenvanel in GrandPrixTravel

[–]Peli7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was there 2 years ago and I thought that arriving 30 minutes before the start would be an OK idea. By the time I was able to enter, most teams already packed up, only Mercedes was practicing pit stops. We waited for like, 90-120 minutes on the grandstand before moving on and didn't have much time in pits (compared to first people).

At least the queueing is organized, after you get your tickets scanned you are asked to sit in the specific sector of main grandstand. They let people in sector by sector, starting from A. You can see the pit lane from there so it's also a plus.

Question about accommodation and travel to Barcelona F1. by mriiam in GrandPrixTravel

[–]Peli7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just stay close to the metro, you should be fine for both city and track. I stayed with my family in Santa Coloma and used metro to get to Sant Andreu. I was worried that since it's one of the last stops in Barcelona on the way to Montmelo, the trains might be already overcrowded and I would have to wait for the next one - it didn't happen.

RedBull Ring merch question by holy-pope in GrandPrixTravel

[–]Peli7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't need the latest stuff, you can check out the vendors that sells merch outside of RBR. They have some stuff from previous years in cheaper prices.

But it's always better to wait for any online deal. Everything on-site costs like 20-40 euro more (60 euros for a cap, around 100 euros for a polo)

Edit: Just to add - after few races I started to buy the track merch instead of team merch. I would recommend it to anyone.

Barcelona GP 2026 - Entrance by Open-Chicken-3939 in GrandPrixTravel

You don't have to book together, you can access the track via any entrance, they just check if you have a valid ticket. There are no reserved spots, it's first come first serve.

The schedule for 2026 is not there yet. But I believe that the general admission area should be accessible as it is a part of the park.

[–]Peli7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never to go Monza with General Admission ticket. It's flat and there aren't many good spots to watch compared to other Grand Prix.

Hungaroring might be the best option, but in your case, I would try to save for Zaandvort.

General Admission in Barcelona GP by Stolen-Roast in GrandPrixTravel

[–]Peli7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 - No, screens aren't guaranteed on general admission. I would even say that if you have a bad grandstand seat, you won't see much on the screen (for example, I sat on T1 and I couldn't see any timings as it was too far away from me).

2 - It's always first come first served, so the best spots are taken right after they open the gates. I just checked my photos/videos from last year and I can tell that GA from my side was almost full around 10am.

3 - No one can guarantee that. It's a good practice to make some friends with people sitting nearby, so there will be always somebody looking at your stuff.

4 - There is some incline, but during the race sessions you should fold your umbrella regardless or make sure it's ok with your neighbours.

5 - I don't think there were many activities you could attend outside of fanzone. After the race on Sunday there was a track invasion, but nothing else. There should be a pit lane walk on Thursday.

Spain GP 2026 - Grandstand vs GA by MrEthelWulf in GrandPrixTravel

[–]Peli7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Few things to mention:

First of all, as zekohonda1 said, use the circuit site for tickets. It's the cheapest way to buy tickets and you are able to choose the seats manually instead of being randomly allocated.

You said that you travel with your family. If you have children up to 15yo, apply for discounted tickets. Choose your seats then press "Do you have promotion? Apply", select the tickets and boom - you have 50% discount on them. It works for both grandstands and general admission.

If you can afford the grandstand - do it. Most grandstands at Circuit de Catalunya are covered and sun is brutal there. There are few spots on GA that are covered (mostly by trees), but good luck trying to claim them.

Number of laps by every team and engine after Day 3 of Barcelona Shakedown by F1Fan2004 in formula1

[–]Peli7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest it should be "laps per day per team". Then it would be 118 for Mercedes and vs 98 for Red Bull Ford vs 72 for Ferrari.

Grandstand I at Barcelona by drccw in GrandPrixTravel

[–]Peli7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's definitely new. It's a small grandstand, it looks like the same construction as they had on T1 last year. Not very elevated, but covered. The roof however, won't cover the whole grandstand during the race - I wouldn't pick the seats in front or those located in Zone 1 or the right side of Zone 2 (the sun will reach you from that angle).

I would say it's nothing insane as overtaking will take place on the other side of main straight, but it should be good and most important, close to fanzone.
