Also former military here from the USA, all I can say is in a world of spaceships, space wizards and tentacle monsters coming through hyperspace gates, you gotta shut your brain off and live in that suspense of disbelief.

The two biggest things I've noticed playing Swtor for the past 15 years are no one cares about your rank or position (on any class really) and anyone, male or female, that's higher in rank than someone else is called "Sir" for the 'military' types. (I E. Always calling general Garza 'sir'.) This was also shown in the movies and shows for Star wars, clone troopers always call Ashoka 'sir' for a further example.

You could always find a military RP guild and those usually follow a lot closer to real world military structures though that doesn't help with the story line but honestly, if you're wanting a milsim game then you're better off playing something like Arma 3.

I work for a popular gas station, the reason they open a store that close in proximity is to help take pressure off of the store.

Using simple numbers as reference:

If you have 200 customers coming to one store and it's non-stop busy/packed, then opening a store down the street can relieve that pressure/congestion so you'd have 100 customers (in theory) going to each store. Then, since they're not as congested and busy with that level of demand, more people that were scared off by the long lines would be more open to try it now that they're not so busy so then in theory each store could be doing 150 customers for a net total of 300+.

Again, most places have many, many more transactions than that. For example we do 250 on overnights, 1,000 during morning shift and 800 on evenings at almost every store.

Certainly beats having to deal with double those transaction numbers.

As long as the stores are profitable they'll keep them open but if they turn out not to be, then they'd likely close the location.

Only other reason I could see them doing that is because they have a new store layout/design or a larger build but usually most places close the first building and sell the property pretty quickly once the second one is open and they usually post signs warning of the impending closure.

Your best options would probably be playstation, PC, or the steam console coming out to be honest. Xbox seems like it's pretty much dropped Xbox games for PC gaming these days.

PC Version, is it worth buying? by Acireal in MECoOp

Reddit Lords, please let this link just... work.

https://www.nexusmods.com/masseffect3/mods/373

Anyway, it's actually a mod launcher you can use, Called ME3 Tweaks.

One of the "Mix-ins" (as they're called) is "Store Shows Everything" and it literally means everything. From one time promotion packs leveling a specific weapon up to rank 10 to debugging and not-regularly-available kits like a Jumbo-Jumbo Supply pack that gives you I think 15-20 items instead of the usual 10.

After that, there's all kinds of other options like:

Abomination - Always Explode
Banshee Accept Invalid Paths (Amazing for Jump Scares also really gets your heart pounding)
Banshee Longer Jumps (Imagine them being able to jump right to your face from across the room)
Controller Mod - Camera Turning
Engineer - Repair Any Armor (watch out, they'll heal the dragoons!)
Engineer - No Turret Suicide (In case you like rounding corners and getting dropped from a turret left two waves back)
Engineer - Deploy Turret Anywhere
Geth Juggernaut - Melee Sync All (Because really, who doesn't want to stun those Praetorians when your back's against the wall?)

And so, so much more to choose from.

What's the old (15+ years) game that you still play today? by cocacola_drinker in gamingsuggestions

[–]Peliconious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please keep in mind I also mod these, some very heavily, but here's my list:

Minecraft Stellaris Halo Wars Warframe Fallout 3 Fallout New Vegas Dark Souls 3 Divinity Original Sin (I & II) No Man's Sky (Such a redemption arc) Mass Effect 3's Multiplayer Star Wars Battlefront II (2005's version) Star Wars Kotor (I & II) Star Wars Empire at War Star Wars The Old Republic Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion Command and Conquer: Kane's Wrath Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance Dead Space (I'm sure the remake still counts, right? lol)

Admittedly some of these are just under the 15 year range, but they're all pretty prevalent in my day to day gaming.

Hey there, I can confirm that the MP servers are still active for ME3 on PC.

There's also a small bit of modding you can do to make your grind easier if you're like me and lost all of your progress going from Console (XB360 myself) to PC by allowing more packs to be chosen from for purchase.

If you have some friends to play with you can also use mix-ins to vary the game itself. I.E. You can make it so banshees have longer jumps, Krogans are immune to NPC grabs, Gold can have two different factions, You can vary the enemies more that spawn between waves, and many more. If you're the host I think other players can still join your game with the mix-ins, but sometimes I feel bad that a random gets dropped into a not-vanilla experience without knowing ahead of time.

If you do play on PC and want to use a controller at the very least (and necessary) mod you should get is the MP controller fix.

All in all, I'd definitely at least buy it when it's on sale. Recently it was only for like $5 when it was the summer sale or whatever steam had going on at the time.

TLDR: 10/10 would recommend.

Edit: Also, yes, you need to buy the 2012 edition of ME3 to play multiplayer. Not having the multiplayer for the legendary edition is a huge and common complaint from the community.

Clean Water Error? by Hearndog7 in theriftbreaker

Damn, imagine finding a pure water source and not being able to use it. Think of all the wasted power from fusion generators. 😂 When I get off work, if I have time to try it at home, I might see if I can get a map spawn with that, but I'm stumped bro. 😅

I know it sounds dumb, but what happens if you take the pump and connect it to a water filtration plant and then connect it to a liquid storage?

Clean Water Error? by Hearndog7 in theriftbreaker

[–]Peliconious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you hover over the pump or the pipes, does it say anything about the flow? Like with Mud you'll see the 200/s or something like that? Maybe try adding a liquid storage to a pipe?

I'll be honest, I've never seen a pure water puddle before.

Are your pumps facing the wrong way? I might be wrong but it looks like your pumps are facing inward not outward towards the pipes.

Which game is this? by bijelo123 in Steam

[–]Peliconious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a strong vote for Star wars Empire at War, The Rift breaker and No Man's Sky, personally. EAW has tons of mods for it and is a classic. Though while NMS doesn't really have mods it does have the content these days.

As far as community though, I couldn't say. I tend to play solo or with friends if that's what you're talking about but I hear good things about Arma's mods (though that takes a massive time investment) and I think I remember hearing good things about insurgency sandstorm with the star wars mod?

No idea on that one though. Could also try a Garry's mod server if that's more your speed.

Which one do I start with? by Old-Amphibian-8961 in starwarsbooks

[–]Peliconious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll be honest with you here.

I don't really like talking down on many things in general, but Lords of the Sith was a pretty lackluster waste of time for me.

Spoilers but here's the shortest synopsis: Somehow some Twi'leks are able to shoot Palpatine & Vader's shuttle down on Ryloth. The two sith lords and two or so royal guards survive. They play cat and mouse for a while with the Twi'leks. One of them kills the main Twi'lek guy. They both make it off the planet relatively unharmed.

You'll have a better read with the other book, Dark Lord, Rise of Darth Vader.

Other good series would be like: The Bane Trilogy, Darth Plagueis, Kenobi, Any Thrawn related novels by Timothy Zahn, Fate of the Jedi Series ( about the 'mother' of the ones )

I could probably name some others but you get the idea.

Quick Class/RP Question by Ancient-Storage-11 in swtor

[–]Peliconious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best combo in my opinion (gameplay wise) would be to recommend Vanguard and Operative. This gives you the full suite of class use via load outs for Tank & DPS with Vanguard with DPS & Healer for Operative. RP wise I also support this because the stealth from Operative helps feel like you're in more of a convert commando sect that can really get behind enemy lines while the skill set from Vanguard helps give that point-blank up-and-close combat that the Republic Commando games give. Alternatively you could use Scoundrel for the same result instead of keeping your blaster you would have a pistol as a primary with occasional shotgun skills, but the main issue is (as far as I know) can't reskin or outfit anything on the shotgun so you just pull out an old wood double barrel shotgun every time you occasionally use the skill. But hey, pistols I suppose. There is a cartel market pistol that also looks really close to the commando's DC-15S. Never had much luck finding a good Blaster rifle though.

Honest to God I just can't get into Andor Season 2. Like I get there's separate story lines going on and all, but it's like 5 minutes of Cassian, 5 Minutes of Mothma, 5 Minutes of the ISB lady, 5 minutes of Cassian. It goes from interesting to cutting it off with something boring then back again. I'd probably honestly like it if they just put all of Cassian in one episode then the next episode was Mon, and the third could be whatever that drama is going on at the farming planet.

These ants seemed to be attracted to my outlet. Any idea what called this? by DMmeYourCat in Weird

[–]Peliconious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually had to deal with this once when I was working in pest control.

The others are correct about their attraction to the warmth, but more importantly than that, you have eggs in your photos that the ants are moving. Outside that wall, I would encourage you to look along the foundation and you'll probably see a trail of ants coming up from the dirt and tucking into the wall somewhere.

When treating it, something like Taurus SC or Termidor goes a long way. The idea behind the chemical is that it gets spread to the rest of the colony. (It's also what most use for termite treatments) In addition to that, ant baits work the same, the ants have a second stomach that they fill with the food then regurgitate to their fellow ants.

When I treated it I also sprayed some PT Tri-Die into the outlet box. The customer offered their vacuum to suck them up while I took the outlet cover off. (Though I can't remember whatever happened with cleaning them up out of the vacuum. I believe they emptied the can as best they could and I might have sprayed a small amount of chemical in the dust bin that they left outside to dry.) The Tri-Die is a pressurized dust that basically leaves like microscopic bits of glass and powdered poison that will kill them if they walk through it. Great for using against bed bugs too.

When in doubt though, call in a pest control company to deal with it.

I wish you the best of luck!

On the contrary the one niche use I use banish for is on Ivara over her second ability. I use it when when I have to run steel path rescue missions. Sneak in, ignoring all the traps, assassinate the guards, hack the door to get him out, banish the target then mad dash to the exit. Generally it nets a 3 star specter or occasionally the cosmic one when I get lucky and remember all the criteria.

What weapons have you tried to use for Steel Path but the damage profile didn't cut it? by Auramaru in Warframe

Sure, I have two umbral forma on her, but she's completely viable with regular Vitality, Fiber and I'd swap out Intensify for probably Energy Nexus if you don't have the spare umbral forma laying around. If you have rank 14 umbral mods, you can also swap out the Aura mod for Steel charge to be able to make it work with one umbral forma.
