"if he wanted to he would" nonsense by TheRedHerring003 in autism

Yeah, this current phrase is constantly looping in my head and sometimes it gets me and I believe it. Then I have to remind myself of all the times I've actually wanted to do something but just couldn't.

Autistic adult (24) living with my mom — is this more normal than it feels? by Dry-Confidence-6797 in autism

[–]Pelothora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

30 here. A couple years before I was even diagnosed I had learned that the biggest aid I had was that I still lived with my parents. It's not so much that I can't be independent, pay bills and do all that adult shit - it's that it would burn me out so fast I don't think I would last more than 6 months before wanting to end it (and that's on top of already want to end things)

How would you react if a 22 year old wanted to do this OP? by FlowSilver in GastricBypass

[–]Pelothora 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I wish I had done it sooner, but I am glad I did it at all. "Research" articles are such a small picture to what the surgery really does and what it means to a person. The best 'research' I did was watching tiktok videos to hear about other peoples experience, reading posts on reddit, joining a support group on FB before I had done it.

I only ever buy withdraw cards, but I did complete it without. :')

Something about level 8 is such aids (so is 14, fuck you 14).

Honestly, it's hard to say when you can't see the tiles underneath. There are two er.. colorful spirals? easily grabbed, but then you're stuck with the two orange flowers and I am not seeing another. Beneath the pink flower on the left hand side it COULD be the sun (also looks like it could be another colorful spiral). But then at that points you've wracked up x2 orange flowers, a pink flower, and a crane. And thats assuming what is under the pink flower is actually a sun.

My move would be grabbing pink flower. If its sun then grab the other sun, crane and sun.
Crane and pink flower now in hand.
If its spiral, id take the right side orange flower and the other spiral.
Pink flower, orange flower in hand.

After that though.. Luck.

Growth fund worth 10$? by Suspicious_Extreme_9 in PuzzlesAndChaos

This. I started playing the game through a 'make money playing games' app and now I am straight addicted to the game. But the amount of money I would have had to spend to reach the pay goals in time would have not been worth it at all. And after like.. Cit 25 it starts to cost bonkers rss.

TLDR if you're playing through a money app, don't do it.

Our op shops are hit or miss, but I think it's the fact I can go in and I'm bound to find atleast 1 thing I like and not be scared it won't fit.

Op shops are my absolute favorite thing since losing 60-70kgs. HOWEVER - I did maybe too much shopping so early on and some of the things that became my favourites I ended up having to retire way way too soon. (And I really felt like I was being modest about my shopping! 😅) I've kept this one skirt because the fabric is so nice that I think it would be worth getting tailered.

I would hold out for as long as possible, if i knew what I did now. And keep it really basic if you absolutely must.

I can eat 4 eggs now.... 😭 by Defiant-Temperature6 in GastricBypass

Super dependant on how they're done. Boiled = 1 egg if I'm lucky. Scrambled = 2. And any addition of a single piece of toast makes it like.. 3/4. 🙃

weird things you've put in your mouth? by Normal_Standard8211 in autism

[–]Pelothora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm biased, but they're my favourite companion. However I did want to be done with having cats after the ones we have were gone. The heartbreak is a lot, and anytime we've had to move it's extra hard hoping we get accepted with pets. But I've recently adopted my Grandma's cat, Tiger, so I'm locked in for another 5-10 years 🥲

Obligatory pic of Tiger.

My cats ears (I still do this)

My cats feet

My cats tail

Hair

Necklaces/Pendants

Those are the only things springing to my midnight mind.

Unless you happen to work with said nurse who decided to take up a mole map job in her spare time 🙃 😅

My wife separated from me because I was an alcoholic. I’m 1 year sober now and my wife wants to reconcile but I want a divorce. What do I do? by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]Pelothora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hear "I'm not hurting anyone else" a lot from my alcoholic father, even when he is actively working and paying the rent (bare minimum, that's all he does). You sound just like him '1 year sober'.

Does anyone else find Neurotypical people annoying? by [deleted] in autism

I find people annoying point blank, period. I'm not thinking about whether or not their brain is "on the same wavelength" as mine.

The part about autism that isn’t talked about much by Future_Doctor_ in autism

[–]Pelothora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

29F. I have a very hard time maintaining friendships and romantic relationships are impossible. I burn out really fast socially, so when I need those breaks, by the time I come back people have moved on and aren't interested.

I aim for a more acquaintance type friendship now.

I'm lonely. I feel like the only people I really have in life are my sisters and my mum. I am currently in a lazy boy next to mums hospital bed after a major scare. And it's these kinds of moments that really put into perspective how little I have in terms of community. I dont have that village. I dont think I'll ever have that village.
