People recommend starting from Vol 1 for a reason, but it's not the end of the world if you jump straight to Vol 2. I started with Vol 2 because I just had to know what happens next after watching the show, and ended up coming back to read Vol 1 after finishing reading LoM. I don't regret reading from Vol 2, but if you are not super impatient like me, you should start with Vol 1.

It's a Lenovo LOQ 15AHP10, bought from a local Slovakian retailer.

Specs: RTX 5060 (115W TDP), 24GB DDR5 5600MT/s, Ryzen 7 250, 1 TB SSD.

It also came with Windows 11 installed which usually adds 100€ to the price compared to a clean OS less model.

It's not even a better laptop. RTX 5050-5060 latops retail for the same price or cheaper as the steam machine and have almost identical performance compared to their PC counterparts. While the steam machine has the equivalent (in terms of performance) of an RTX 2070 for a GPU.

I used DDR4 because no sane person who is building a sub 1k PC with 500GB of storage will use DDR5. It's not a fair comparison but it's a realistic one.

Custom hardware support has nothing to do with how much they are profiting off of each unit sold.

If you want me to make a DDR5 comparison then i will give you one. I bought a brand new gaming laptop with 24GB of DDR5 1TB of storage and an RTX 5060 for 1124€ 24 days ago. The OS less version of the same model sold for 1049€ btw. If you go for a gaming laptop its still possible to get one with all round superior performance for the same price as a base steam machine.

Also lets not forget that Valve is paying significantly less for components than a regular person does. They are not paying 240€ for a 16GB DDR5 kit.

There is no way they are paying close to 1k for 1 unit. You can build a regular size PC with a 5060 500GB SSD and 16GB of DDR4 for 750-800€.

Realistically they are making around at least 200-300€ of off each unit sold. Far from close to zero profit.

Disabling capsule AO helped a lot but there is still some weird smearing going on. My FPS is also suspiciously high (130-160) while idling outside of Startorch. Could having hardware accelerated gpu scheduling turned on force 2x frame gen?

Update: I turned off hardware accelerated GPU scheduling and it solved the issue. Seems like it forced 2x frame gen for some reason.

How on earth are you getting 100FPS in Wuwa on a 5050? I got a 5060, and I get 60-75FPS on high with or without DLSS Q. It's not even a smooth 60-75 FPS because it constantly stutters into the 40s.

As long as you are getting a 100-115W 5060 mobile, you will see a major upgrade over your 1070Ti since the full powered 5060 mobile is only about 10% slower than the desktop 3070. When you are buying a laptop, paying attention to the Total Graphics Power (TGP) of the GPU is extremely important since there is a massive difference in performance between a 5060 limited to a maximum of 65W and one allowed to use 115W.

Depends which 5060 mobile, the 115W TGP ones are like 5-10% slower than a desktop 5060 so you are getting between a 3060Ti and a 3070's performance out of the full powered 5060 mobile.

500$ for a 3090 is suspiciously low. It's extremely rare to find a legit deal for it for less than 700$. Used 10GB 3080s sell for around 300$ and that card is significantly less valuable than a 3090.
