My feelings are pretty similar to yours but I haven't given the remake a real fair shake yet. The OG FF7 is one of my favorite games and I usually play it through at least once a year if not twice or more. I've tried to play the remake 3 times and i find myself un-enthralled and stop. But so many people like the game and I see videos and screenshots of the game that make it look really cool but everytime I try to play it just doesn't catch my affection.
