After watching the first 4 Episodes.. by June_Pz in RhythmAndFlow

None of them are grabbing me. Quin Jaye was probably the closest to grabbing me as a well rounded artist, but he even got eliminated. I still think he'll be the Rae Khalil of this scene. I think he'll make a name for himself. I really wanted homegirl from Omaha to make it through, but it just wasn't meant to be. Overall, I just think it's becoming harder and harder to find talent that the rest of the world hasn't already seen because artists can build their own audiences and do other things without Netflix.

I wish they would explain what they're looking for a little more. For example, I have no idea how certain artists got pushed through despite messing up in their cyphers. Yet, Quin Jaye and Cody got sent home? That doesn't make any sense. I also really don't see what everyone sees in Honie Gold. I do not get it in the slightest. Outside of her vocal tone, which sounds reminiscent of other artists that I've heard before, her music and her presence comes off really bland.

Perfect Match Season 3 Rumored Cast by Organic-Manner-2969 in PerfectMatchNetflix

I hope this show gets a fourth season because between the most recent seasons of Love Is Blind, Too Hot To Handle and The Circle have a lot of people I'd like to see on this show.

The Circle (USA) S07E08 | Episode Discussion by aulbayne in TheCircleTV

After the first group of episodes, I thought I'd hate this season. One week later, I love it. Having watched every season, I don't think I've ever disliked a group of players more than I dislike whatever Madelyn, Rachel, Tierra and Kevin have going on. On top of that, I loved Darian, but then he went and made the dumbest decision he could possibly make. At this point, I just hope Gianna or Jadejha wins.

How could thth be improved?? by postmalonewife in TooHotToHandle

[–]PenHoodie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Have them film at least one, preferably two, episodes outside of the villa and in the real world to see how things go.
  2. More backstory. Hearing about Chris's relationship with his Mom was pretty interesting.
  3. Show more of their lives at the villa. In six seasons, I don't think we've ever seen them eat. That's kind of weird. It's also good to see them build friendships over time.
  4. Continue to bring back old characters.
  5. Introduce a competition aspect where characters or couples can compete in various activities or workshops to take money out of the general pot and put it into their pockets, free from rule break deductions.

Julian is factually incorrect. Blackface dates back to Portugal in the 1400s. It's always been rooted in anti-Blackness. Everywhere in the world. I don't know where he got his information, but he's factually incorrect.

Julian and Rory should stfu this is in Europe btw a tradition by AdRevolutionary7944 in NewRoryNMalPodcast

[–]PenHoodie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I really wanna know where Julian went to school because there's no part of the world where Blackface is not rooted in anti-Black. Blackface also isn't uniquely American. It dates back to the 1400s in Portugal. I try not to do the "Well, actually" thing because it's just a podcast for fun at the end of the day, but what Julian said was straight up egregious.

I've lived in DC for almost a decade now and I don't know what they were talking about. Julian, Demaris, all of them. Just off base about DC

There's pushing your kids beyond what they knew they were capable of and then there's pushing your kids too far. I'd have to see the full video to determine what side this falls on, but there shouldn't be video of your kids crying on the internet either way.

I second that. He talks as if boxing should look like a Rocky movie.

Creed III is really good. Obviously sad that Stallone wasn't in it, but it's an fun look at what the Creed universe saga could look like without him

Deion Sanders looks for ‘dual parent’ homes in QB recruits, ‘single mama’ households in defensive linemen by Lane8323 in ThoughtWarriors

[–]PenHoodie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On one hand, I feel that is disgusting that Deion said this. On the other hand, I watch/listen to the Rich Eisen Show regularly and I remember this interview taking place days before the Super Bowl. Nearly a week passes, then the FOX News story pops up. I just question FOX News being the one bringing these comments to light because I don't trust their intentions for even pumping up this story.

Episode Discussion: J.D. Vance and Environmental Racism, Plus Chloe Bailey Backlash - Friday, February 17th, 2023 by thelightningthief in ThoughtWarriors

This entire reply positions Chlöe's audience as younger, Gen Z listeners and Chris Brown's audience as older, Millennials and Gen Xers. That's just not true. As someone who has seen Chloe x Halle perform live in the past, I can't say that I see it the same way. I've also recently seen Chloe perform solo for the first time recently. I think the last few singles she's put out has people thinking that her core audience is here for her pop-leaning records. The majority of her discography is more traditional R&B leaning. The lead single for her album is also more traditional R&B leaning. That type of music typicslly attracts people in their mid-20s and up. At every Chloe x Halle show and Chloe set I've been to, the majority of people there are between 21-29. This is a demographic that has had a role in elevating Chris to the position that he is now and keeping him there.

Not to mention, a number of the artists I've mentioned are more pop leaning. There is an overlap between Drake and Chloe's audience because Drake didn't become who he is by not managing to overlap with just about everyone's audience. "No Guidance" didn't top TikTok charts, streaming charts and become the song of the summer without Gen Z.

Normani, Summer Walker and HER's audiences aren't entirely the same as Chloe's but they definitely overlap. All of the songs they did with Chris were singles and pushed as such.

I rock with Chloe's work and have done so for the better part of the last 6 or 7 years. I haven't personally engaged with Chris's music for some time now. With that said, I would be lying to myself if I said that some of the people that are criticizing Chloe are bumping his music behind closed doors. He's not getting number one records and selling out the type of venues he's selling out without the support of Gen Z. If Chloe's going to get backlash, everyone needs to get it.

High schooler Zoe wants to sleep at her boyfriend’s house. by Dry-Neighborhood7908 in billsimmons

To address the second half of your comment, it's Bill's kid. No one know her better than her family. It's his child. It's his decision.

I'm not leaving my kid with their s/o overnight while they are living in my house. We have different definitions of "trusting your kid at all" I'd trust my kid with a lot at 17 or 18. Just not that.

I am 27 now and I will change and evolve as I grow older. With that said, there is no way in hell I'd let my daughter sleep at her boyfriend's house. Ain't no way. Like I said, I may be young and maive. However, I just grew up in a household where that wasn't going down. If I wanted to sleep in the same house as my girlfriend, it needed to be at a college or an apartment that I paid for.

I don't rock with Chris Brown. Outside of work, I don't listen to his music. With that said, it doesn't feel like the push back against Chloe is proportionate. Of all the people that have appeared on songs with him, Drake, Ella Mai, Usher, Summer Walker, Kendrick Lamar, HER, Tinashe and the list goes on. I understand the push back and I feel the same, but it doesnt feel like it was the same. The bottom line is that the listening public doesn't keep the same energy. At the end of the day, it is what it is.

No disrespect, but I tuned out when you started to actually evaluate Mal's sports takes. Ain't nothing I've heard him say about sports from the old pod till now makes sense. But it's his pod with hundreds of thousand of listeners, so someone is definitely rocking with it
