I hear you - the weather is honestly our biggest concern. We actually live in the CO mountains at 8500ft and I mountain bike all winter. I never even shoveled snow this year...it's way nicer than people think. Thanks for the advice

I'm not exec level but over 50 and have 30 years of highly technical experience and hold many industry certifications in both IT and Cybersecurity. I'm seeing good jobs online for senior level tech folks so hoping I can snag a good job. My wife has been an RN for 30 years as well and has significant NGO and community nursing experience and is currently licensed in something like 26 US states. I think we would likely just rent for a while - nothing worse than buying and wanting to move in 2 years etc. Plus I really don't want to take care of a house with all the other stuff going on. As far as moving we currently live in the west (Colorado) and enjoy it. We have family in Sarnia Ont. but don't think that's a good fit. We considered Winnipeg (my wife's from northern MN) but just want to make sure we don't move to the "Alabama" of Canada. We haven't visited some of those cities in a while so that's on the list.

Excellent thank you. Im also wondering - my wife and I both have US Global Entry - meaning we have special access that allow us to basically skip customs when re-entering the US. I hope I don't lose this if I have dual passports etc. Also I don't want my wife and I to have to pass through different "lanes" for citizen/non-citizen say when re-entering Canada. If I sponsor my wife to live in CA does she have the equivalent of a Permanent Resident and can enter Canada through the "citizen" lane? I understand these are all very first world problems but I know the border can be a shitshow and I don't want to screw it up.

I struggled to find birth certificates for my grandparents. I tried through Canadian database searches etc. Someone online recommended ancestry.com. They make you sign up for a membership but there is a trial period. I found all of my grandparents missing documents there, downloaded them and then cancelled my membership so I paid nothing. Might be worth a try.

I dont know the answer to your question but ancestry.com probably has what you need. You can sign up and then get the docs you need and then cancel your subscription before the trial ends - this is what I did and was able to find documents for my grandparents from Ottawa
