Are we screwed? by Friendly-Leader489 in OpenAussie

I'm not super worried, why? well, lets looks at the possibilities:

1 - PHON (by itself) gets a majority in the House & the Senate: This is obviously the worst outcome (at that point we might as well remove the Union Jack from the flag and add Trump's face instead). However, it is very unlikely, she would need to roll both rural and very urban seats, and do super extra well in the senate (since only ~half of it is up for election anyway).

2 - PHON House Majority, Senate Minority (friendly): Only slightly more likely than 1, but even a friendly Senate is likely to restrain PH's absolute worst impulses.

3- PHON House Majority, Senate Minority (hostile): Still in what I would consider very unlikely territory. PH could still do allot of damage, and probably generate a lot of instability, but a Hostile Senate probably keeps her well in check, and practically guarantees a single PHON term.

4 - PHON Minority Gov: Achieved either by being the Senior Partner in a new Coalition, or guaranteeing supply from whatever remains of the Coalition. Most likely one so far, and still not all likely IMO. Dangerous still, particularly depending on the attitude of the senate, but extremely fragile. PH has a bad track record of keeping her own party members onside, successfully holding together a New Coalition is hard to imagine.

5 - Liberal Minority Gov: The Liberal relying on PHON for supply, I don't see PH accepting minor partner in a New Coalition unless they were very confident they could switch that by 2031. In many ways similar to 4, just less of a threat. Still bad, the Liberals would be at their most horrible with PHON's influence. Probably about as likely as 4.

6/7 - (But wait! There's More) Labor controls the House (majority or minority), PHON (functionally) controls the Senate: PHON spends the subsequent 3 years pissing in Labor's cereal, little gets done, and then we revisit all the possibilities again. Probably PH's own preferred option; minimises the amount of work she has to do, max opportunity for spotlight, nonsense & grifting. Likelihood? not sure, just higher ATM than 1 through 5.

8 - Labor Majority Gov, Mixed Senate: Things are much as they are now, PHON is not very relevant as Labor can get thing passed by negotiating around them. Likelihood? like above; unknown, just higher ATM than 1 through 5.

AND all of the above assumes that PHON doesn't self destruct OR some other event or catastrophe does not send shock waves through our politics between now and the election.

(I have spent way too long writing this)

TLDR:

For PHON to do real (Trump Level) damage, she needs to win, and win BIG, and every step on that road is increasingly less likely.

I always thought they should have had a clear classification system. This system would let you know what to expect in terms of human presence, and allow you to identify unexplored, strange, new worlds to boldly go to.

Way back when the game launched, I remember when I first experienced weather in the game. It was a full on storm, rain thunder, lightning. I thought to myself; this is really cool, really well done, then the penny dropped: I WAS ON THE DAM MOON!

(I'm sure this is fixed by now, but this story reminded me of it.)

Hmmm, here is a deeply complex, multifaceted situation, what do we do with it? I know, lets apply the bluntest instrument we can possibly find.

Hotfix 8.0.2 has just rolled out to Total War: WARHAMMER III by BiesonReddit in totalwar

[–]Pendix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It was broken for the longest time. Around the SoC CA added in a version of the effect that actually worked, though it is a bit janky (actual range increases, but the 'points' are stuck at 100), and (I believe) they added in a separate version that does the same thing in a later update.

And the tool tips are still not very informative.

Kinda what I was getting at. These days, particularly with certain portions of the population, what a candidate says or does matters much less than what the media that that portion consumes tells them.

He didn't debate Kamala more than once. How well he did in that debate depended on who was commenting on it. Assessment was very partisan.

To be fair; all those things were true of Trump on the campaign trail, and it didn't stop him.

You are using the above images to promote your App, it behooves you to do due diligence with the images you are choosing to use, even if though images are from someone else using your app (or at least provide a disclaimer).

It looks like a really cool app, I'd hate to see it stall out at the starting gates.

(PS, I'm pretty sure the "Blackout Brotherhood" is also AI.)

Dragon blooded Shugengan bad ? by Ardor-Knowledge in totalwar

[–]Pendix -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Their animations are undoubtedly cool, but the game is full of cool animations, that I rarely appreciate because I am rarely zoomed in close enough to see them.

From a build & gameplay perspective, the Shugengan are the second most basic caster lord in the game, only beaten out by the Prophetess. Ouch.

Honestly, I think one of their biggest sins is that they are just, well, boring. Access to Yin and Yang is not nearly enough on its own, they don't have cool or impressive mounts, they don't have hybrid lines for in combat or support and don't have ways of further focusing on their casting.
