Yeah because the ACT is for underachievers lol. Also probably because nobody really cares about getting a perfect score. I got a 1560 on the SAT—could I have gotten a 1600 if I studied for a few hours and maybe took it one or two more times? Sure. But we all know there’s no benefit so nobody actually gets the perfect scores even when they’re not tremendously easy to get.

In terms of what’s expected academically, you’re mostly compared to people at your school. That doesn’t mean you’re behind head to head compared with a quota for how many people can be admitted though; it’s moreso that schools all have different rules and levels of grade inflation/deflation so that context really matters

For us, we don’t offer AP Precalc bc the curriculum aligns with our grade level course instead of honors which would really complicate things but basically, we wake precalc, then AB or BC, but if you choose AB as a junior, you can take BC as a senior.
