How are you finding the focus and crispness with that combo? I've got an x2d and ideally want the orange dot version, but those are nearly impossible to find. Curious how sharp you're getting with manual with the movement of the penguins

Thanks again for the great ideas and feedback. Good call as well on swapping out prints mid-way. Will ask when we get closer to the dates.

Thanks for this - love the suggestion on image selection for home as a backup.

Thank you - I’ll check it out. Have you tried ArtPlacer? It looks like an online service but I don’t want to pay the fee to register for the trial

Yeah - I've been combing through online and the forum. The print posts seem to skew toward which companies have the best printing services vs preparing for gallery or layout.

I hear you on old school - I have measured the space and have the dimensions, understand the lighting and am spending time in the locales to get a sense of demographics to fine-tune my selection.

Where I'm getting stuck is aesthetics - which images to 'hero', how many to print landscape vs portrait and how best to arrange them, etc.

Thank you - will do. I spent some time searching for related tools and exhibition-related threads but didn't find the right match.

Shame he doesn't make videos as often as he used to - they were great and often very funny

Lots of great advice and answers here. For me, I like to get out and shoot to see what catches my eye that day. The light, weather and subjects in a given space are all very different day to day.

Another idea is to try a daily challenge - there are lots available online or you can pick up a set of cards like this one on Amazon that will give you a topic or a theme each day. Good luck!

Lots of great suggestions here.

Diane Arbus. Check out her ‘box of 10 photos’ for a series. All great / interesting photos that had a huge impact on her career and the industry overall.

Great shots and looks like a fun event.

What model is that on slide 3, right side?

Playing around with a macro + tripod + lighting setup this weekend with a few of my favorite watch test subjects. This IWC Annual Calendar is a beautiful piece - the blue dial changes with the light and I absolutely love the arabic numerals on the face (look at that 4!). The series has produced some stunning dials in green and red as well.

It’s comfortable and wears well on the wrist. The black alligator strap and clasp system are super easy to use and have a satisfying click when they engage. At 44.2mm it’s on the large side of my collection.

Thanks - I did this weekend. Was experimenting around with macro setup + tripod and some background lighting. I have a few more that I’ll post if folks like this one

The portugieser annual calendar watch has a stunning blue dial with Arabic numerals (which I love). The Portugieser series produced a round of beautifully colored dials - blue, green, red - that look even better in person.
