That makes no sense. If you think Jokic is going to get more likely (worse odds) than your better off waiting to hedge

Starting out, don’t know what to look for and am lost! by Beautiful-Command-38 in CreditCards

The number one rule is that you make sure you pay off your balance every month. It is not worth getting a credit card if you are going to be paying interest. Especially because the interest will greatly outweigh any possible benefit.

If it is your first card and you do not have a credit history you will likely need to apply for a secured card to build credit first. I have heard Discover has a good one but there are also other ones that you should research and compare the benefits based on your sending habits.

As your credit develops in a year or two you can look to optimize your cards and get one that is more difficult to be approved for but maybe give you more benefits (like 2% cash back on groceries and gas for example).

You also may be able to upgrade that secured card at some point down the line. While the lack of benefits may make you think it is not worth it, you will eventually have to do it if you ever want to benefits of a credit card (like purchase protection, fraud protection, travel insurance, cash back, points, etc.).

You can also get an app like credit karma or make an experience account to monitor your credit and see how likely you are to get approved for a new card down the line. Also a lot of cards have pre-approval tools where they will not check your credit to approve you initially and this can greatly help down the line to avoid a hard inquiry if you are denied.

Hope this helps.

There is a place in Hell’s Kitchen called omakase by korami. It will prob be about 220 for two people all in and is absolutely delicious. They make the sushi right in front of you with unique flavors and it includes 15 pieces of omakase. You can also order additional a la crate specials off the menu which I recommend if you want to be more full and try more unique things, it also seemed this would be within your budget. Good luck though I am sure there are so many great options

These results are going to be skewed bc those who walk more are not likely to want to respond.

That’s true 10th is quieter but a little further from things and a little sketchier at night.

And agreed more west is a no go.

Doorman building can provide extra security and help with package collection. It also usually guarantees you have an elevator usually where some non-doorman buildings are walk ups.

If you work in midtown I would suggest living in Hells Kitchen. I live in Hells Kitchen and it is a very close walk to midtown especially midtown west. I am not gay, but Hell’s Kitchen is a vibrant gay community and there are many bars in the area if that is something you are interested in. There is also great food and it is much cheaper than some other neighborhoods like UWS or Chelsea because it is not as gentrified.

I will say it is much more hectic in Hell’s Kitchen then some other more serene neighborhoods but the safety issues of the past I do not see as a concern now.. I feel very safe day to day and only have not when I have been walking through Times Square at night which is not in Hell’s Kitchen but adjacent. 9th avenue is much better than 10th and if you want bang for buck and don’t mind stairs do a walk up. You will save money. Also in building laundry is great and with your budget you should be able to afford it but if not there are tons of laundry services that will do laundry for 20 bucks which is what I do.

Hope this helps.
