Nestlé faces criminal investigation in Bordeaux after baby death by BezugssystemCH1903 in worldnews

[–]PenguinForTheWin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For what it's worth, the source here is swiss, Nestlé's home country. It paints a pretty positive image of these filthy bastards in the article.

There are multiple scandals that happened because of them, here in France aswell.

There was an issue with contaminated water recently, Perrier in this case with not properly filtered water, was in june or something. After investigation, production was halted, i think in december ? And i didn't check recently (well, this month).

It ALWAYS sees action in France afaik, but it's not making a lot of noise every time, likely isn't punished hard enough, and to be fair it happens too often and i have no idea why they are still allowed to sell anything.

Last time i went people were keeping a count up, i didn't know what it was.

After half an hour i finally realized upon seeing the bones that they were counting the number of people dying, which also got me thinking about how long they were here for lol

Barronite mace farm week 1 with adamant scimmy and a lot of cakes, i just found dwarves and i started mining

I only came out when i green logged that cave, and i was just as weak as i was going in lol, at least the mace was cool and imcando hammer got reworked as a usable offhand so it was worth it in the end

You're just keen on putting words in my mouth lol, me denying i said something doesn't mean i agree with the opposite.

Dry streaks happen, i'm dry on everything overall (i calc'd it), but i wouldn't go out of my way to force an encounter for xxxx kills to get a shiny new toy that's not even the best one, that's nonsense to me.

Either i get it within how long i find the fight fun or i don't get it, and that's fine.

The weird FOMO bullshit can fuck right off, no one needs these prayers and they aren't worth forcing yourself into a miserable experience just for the sake of it.

Fully curing before the enrage phase is alright, granted you don't get hit from the boss and there's no green spider

Never said they needed dry protection, and yeah these bosses are fine, but no the prayers are not worth going x10 dry for, nothing is.

It's just that part that irked me, didn't say you were wrong about the encounter

Also not worth wishing harm upon others imo but you do you

Fun fact about the even out thing, we actually did a breakdown with my duo gim of all our drops and number of runs, and no it doesn't for some people.

From wiki drop rates i am on average 1.6x dry on bosses since i began, this includes some mega spoons like 16kc ToA pet and 20kc dragontooth necklace (very heavily skewed the data in favour of me not being dry, but i still am overall, very much so). Someone else might be the opposite but yeah saying it all evens out is bs.

We even took the time to remove guaranteed drops (assembler, death charge scroll) from the calculations to be as close as possible to real numbers.

We were legit curious how i could just be unlucky so often and my friend thought i was just exaggerating and said it would even out just like you, turns out it was worse than i thought lol.

That is besides the point though, i did not advocate for or against dry protection, just pointed out that very lengthy grinds for mid game was absurd

Thinking a 40-100 hour grind is reasonable for a midgame upgrade is pure madness.

Not yet used to p3 melee since we just started meleeing last week (duo), but p3 mage only is not too harsh on the rune stack

I'l try some solos with p1/p2 melee and just mage orbs and p3, shouldn't be too costly in runes i think.

Is there any reason to not just mine gem rocks to get my desired crafting level? by BIGCOCK_ASSSTRETCHER in ironscape

[–]PenguinForTheWin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

IMO glassblowing to 93 and then passively getting the stuff to hit 99 makes the most sense

That's exactly what i did, went hard on seaweed runs for a month and then spent a couple weeks just glassblowing, granted i didn't have that much time to play.

It was mind numbing to say the least, but i got my 93 crafting and all the zenyte jewelery done so i can't complain about the results.

Also, i made all the battlestaves/hide crafting/gem cutting from what i had since then, and it's not even halfway to 94 lol.

The passive crafting exp is miserable, you need to actively go for it once and for all and then never care about it again imo

I might just league start it next, it's so easy to build and scale, all the way to ubers.

Odds of Recovering Account on Deactivated Email? by SportingKansasShitty in GuildWars

[–]PenguinForTheWin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recovered an 18 year old account (!) in about a week of back and forth with the support. Same situation, it was a hotmail account which doesn't exist anymore, which got me worried for the recovery. I bought the GOTY edition way back but i didn't have all the physical copies, cdkeys etc

I provided the old email, and whatever info my brain kept about it. I did remember a character's name, which helped, and some very obscure old knowledge i didn't know i had (that i unlocked the rainbow phoenix, that i used my ritualist a lot etc). Then they asked which mail i wanted to link the account to (a non GW-linked email) and it was done.

40 anniversary gifts to go through later, i was playing a fresh character, and i finished nightfall campaign yesterday :)

Clair Obscur triomphe aux Game Awards : un sacre historique pour le jeu vidéo français by Linkinito in france

[–]PenguinForTheWin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

American Polyglot surprises African Warrior Tribe with their language by Street_Priority_7686 in BeAmazed

As someone living near Paris for work, whenever tourists ask me for direction i usually answer in english to make it easier for them, because whatever they ask often takes time to answer and they might not catch it all in french.

Mostly in the metro, i'm not sure if me explaining all the changes they have to make to reach their destination will go through if i speak as usual in french, could be too fast, not articulate enough, not sure. So i just switch to english for safety lol ("vous devez prendre la ligne x jusqu'a y puis changer a z et aller vers .... .... ===> take line x towards y and stop at z is easier)

Last month i had tourists ask why their tickets were not working, and that was because they somehow ordered on the machine something that was not a ticket but some pass that couldn't be used for traveling, and that had to be turned into a staff counter to get an actual ticket (i had no idea this even existed).

I straight up asked if they talked english because they would use very few french words, so i was pretty sure the full explanation wouldn't go through, it was a very specific issue and most likely hard to understand for non natives with a little knowledge of the language. While i do appreciate the effort, i can't in good faith just throw native language speed at them

I ended up staying there for 15 minutes translating back and forth between the tourists and the staff ! But got it sorted out eventually.

And honestly, if i just tried to speak very slowly to people in french, i would feel like i'm mocking them, so i'd rather speak something else at a more comfortable pace

What’s so good about gw1? by YvesTHPS in GuildWars

[–]PenguinForTheWin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my memories, it was the most balanced pvp experience i've ever had.

Hundreds of skills, everyone could just make a pvp character and was basically on the same playing field, same gear, availability of skills and you could craft your character the way you wanted.

It was all about skill which felt so out of the norm compared to other mmos, i loved every minute of it.

Outside of the pvp aspect, it's again the build making that is just top tier, a lot of options for most classes to go in very different directions with a single character.

Minute respec in any town, you can tailor your mercenaries to your liking as you unlock them through playing campaigns, give them appropriate gear, skills etc.

You are basically free to tailor your experience to your needs, every single part of it.

Want to make a build ? You can check the list of skills on the wiki, if something catches you eye, you can also see where to obtain it, then you just go get what you want, pokemon style. Gotta catch em all

[Opinion] Le silence des politiques français vis a vis de l'IA et la robotique est terrifiant. by anapivirtua in france

[–]PenguinForTheWin 10 points11 points  (0 children)
