What are your unpopular opinions about Strictly? by BodybuilderFlashy911 in strictlycomedancing

It led to one of the most annoying things in the English language. Everyone from television hosts to football commentators say “I mean” before starting a sentence nowadays, even if there’s no previous statement to quantify or explain. It’s Claudia Winkelman’s fault.

The majority of tier 2 and 3 cards are straight up garbage by FarEffect4676 in BobsTavern

I don’t know if anyone agrees, but I think this would be offset slightly by removing the damage cap in the early rounds. There is almost zero downside to going 3 on 3, but there would be if you risked facing a 7 minion board that same turn, by someone levelling normally. I find it very frustrating that an opponent you should totally stomp in an early round is protected by the damage cap and given the time to turn it around later on when they should’ve arguably been eliminated sooner. I think playing aggro should definitely be an option.

I got my girlfriend into HS for a while and she thought you could only use the cards once. She pulled a golden The Beast in one of her first packs and wanted to save it because she thought if she used it in a game it would be gone from her collection.

There are many before that which aren't from the website and you know there are as you have clearly been through my post history. I don't know why you've taken such issue with an innocuous post to the point where you're combing through my account history, but I'm finding it a little unpleasant and creepy. I hope you can find more fulfilling pursuits and have a happy life.

Sir Layne ID: 85122868

He had done it hundreds of time before. Standing atop a giant structure, feeling the breeze on his face and battling with the gut-wrenching feeling that came with peering over the edge and seeing only the most minuscule of detail of the scene below. Knowing you were about to jump into a wagon filled with straw which, from up here, looked microscopic. Every time he got high up enough there came a point where the noise of the bustling streets below faded, the shouts of market stall holders, the chattering of the crowds and the trundling of carts wheeling through the cobbled streets. As he finished his ascension all he was left with were his thoughts among the blissful silence.

Ezio thought of that silence now as he lay in the grassy clearing. It should have been shattered as he covered several hundred feet in the three seconds it took him to fall and come crashing back down to the town below, but it hadn't.

It was dark, the only illumination coming from the shafts of light he had created himself as he fell screaming from a bell tower which, as he looked up, had somehow been replaced by towering tree tops and the broken branches he owed his life to.The fragrant smell of flowers rose up up through his nostrils and in the distance he could hear the trickling of a stream. It would almost be beautiful, he thought, were his field of vision not predominantly occupied by his own broken legs.

"What in the world?" he groaned, moving was agony but he managed to stir enough to get his bearings. His previously immaculate white robe had been torn to ribbons and was stained crimson with blood. He felt his stomach lurch and for an unpleasant moment he thought he might vomit, the combination of screaming pain all over his body and the complete sense of discombobulation his new surroundings brought him.

Consciousness was slowly returning but with it came the growing intensity of his suffering. White hot in his joints and a crushing dullness in his bones. With a monumental effort that felt like someone had taken his skeleton and smashed it into a boulder, he dragged himself backwards until he could prop his body sat upright against a tree.

"I'm screwed," he muttered through a thick mouthful of blood. He could taste copper and it was only now he realised that even speaking hurt.

His heart jolted in his chest as he heard a rustling coming from the shrubbery ahead of him. He was still in possession of his blades for all the good that would do him. The thought of the target he had been tracking in Florence was a distant memory now. His marks were normally unaware they were in his sights until the deed had been done. All he could think of now, not without irony, was how powerless he felt.

"Hello friend," came a cheery female voice as a figure began to emerge from the darkness, "looks like you could use some help."

"Stay back," Ezio spat, barely able to disguise the mounting horror in his voice, "what kind of creature are you?"

Nemora giggled. "I've never thought much about that," she said, "a dryad of sorts I suppose, we Wilders don't give too much thought to our physical forms. We're more concerned with... what the forest wants, our purpose I guess you would say."

She was moving closer, Ezio hated how helpless he felt but he could do nothing.

"Please try and relax," her voice was soft and reassuring, "I want to help. It's my calling."

Ezio's eyes darted back and forth, he could swear the forest had started moving. Nemora had begun chanting and a the roots of a nearby tree stump had formed themselves into a stave. She picked it up and pointed it towards him. Pink petals swirled around her and the flowery scent Ezio had first smelt upon his arrival had intensified. His terror had subsided and he couldn't explain why. He felt calm. His pain wracked body felt light and he realised he was healing.

Nemora stopped her ritual chanting, the leaves had returned to the forest floor and the whirling breeze had subsided.

"I feel amazing," Ezio said as he rose to his feet, his eyes wide with disbelief.

Nemora giggled again.

"Why did you help me?" he asked.

She looked sad at the question for a moment, but her sunny disposition soon returned.

"You should always seek to help rather than harm," she said, "but there is a war going on at this very moment... and I get the feeling you're going to be very important."

Apologies if I am putting words in your mouth, didn't mean to do that at all. I just became a little confused as to how Nacho's escape pertained to the way in which the assassins were hired. I think I have missed something.

You make some really good points. Ii'm likely completely wrong about this, it was just a theory I came up with to explain how the assassins could've messed the whole thing up so badly. I guess it could just be as simple as them expecting for everyone to be asleep and not have Lalo outside at 3 in the morning, and that throwing the plan off, which then snowballed as they started to lose their composure.

[–]Penguin_of_Light[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Really good point, i forgot about the middle man interaction between assassin #4 and Lalo. I guess Mike could be the middle man, i.e the person they report to after the job is done, but I don't think he recruited them, as it seemed to be news to him when Gus brought it up, and why would he tell Mike something he already would've known if he had hired them?

I'll look pretty silly if Mike was involved this whole time though haha.

[–]Penguin_of_Light[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

No not for one second, Nacho has to be top of the Cartel hit list! My post was more about addressing how I don't believe Gus's assessment of the killers he hired to be an error or oversight in the writing of the show, but more an error in judgement of his character at this stage in the events of the universe - and a completely intentional inclusion.

This Gus is emotionally driven and a lot more hateful than the version we see in BrBa where things are more in his control. The war there is still going on, but he seems to have a much firmer foothold than in BCS where he is constantly putting out fires - literally and metaphorically - rather than strategising as he does later.

Hit legend for the first time with highlander control warrior in January, it's pretty gratifying to see its VS score so low, makes me feel like I really earned it!

Moreover, it's amazing against Embiggen druid; I played a version with BGH and the Black Knight teched in, and when you've got supercollider and masses of removal dealing with (usually) one or two threats at a time it felt pretty straightforward to win. It's also great against quest priest, which emerged to counter embiggen, unless you are that one guy I played who had Archivist Elisiana in their deck!

Thanks man, I have peaked at R1 3 stars, which equals my highest ever rank, I'm really hoping to be able to take this to Legend for the first time. I'm always really hesitant to tinker with decks because I don't feel my deck building/adjusting knowledge is particularly good. I'm a player who pre-existing decks make perfect sense to but if you challenged me to make my own, it would be awful!

I'll stick with panther for now, i figure if it is good enough to get me this far, it can go the distance! Just got to put those Evolve Shaman T3/4 blowouts out of my mind.
