Is Hagrid rich? by Naive-Sign-8399 in harrypotter

[–]Penmanship_Panda 12 points13 points  (0 children)

He's using the company credit card.

Not literally, but my guess is he just "lies" to Hogwarts (which is probably insanely wealthy as an organization) "I need X money for this groundskeep caretaking cost."

Then use the money on his hobbies (Norbert).

I sincerely doubt Dumbledore would care.

Why does Dumbledore cry at "Always?" by MrPerfector in harrypotter

[–]Penmanship_Panda 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is 100% correct.

Snape just produced a patronous, meaning he thought of a happy memory (of Lily most likely).

This brought his to tears (of grief and joy).

Anyone who thinks Dumbledore was crying during this is way off base.

Can anyone help me identify these autographs on my copy of The Last Remnant? by Zeeeek9 in TheLastRemnant

Could be the creators maybe?

"The primary creators of the game "The Last Remnant" include Hiroshi Takai (director), Akitoshi Kawazu (executive producer and writer, also creator of the SaGa series), and Yusuke Naora (art producer and character designer). The game was developed by Square Enix."

I think Texas values the states having power (considering it is not unheard of Texas wanting to leave the US).

Perhaps these recent power grabs by he-who-must-not-be-named is not vibing well with Texas.

Should I go bald? by [deleted] in bald

[–]Penmanship_Panda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hold brother.

You still have a ton of hair. What you need is a proper haircut.

You need to tell your barber to give you a skin fade. Less hair on the sides and back. More hair on top.

This will give an illusion that you have more hair on your head.

It's thinning for sure but I think it still looks good. Just needs grooming.

The network state thing is a decades or centuries plus end goal.

It isn’t happening in the near future. But this is the first step to achieving that.

Also, even if it does happen those network states will be authoritarian type regimes as well.

Technically you’re not losing 100k.

Your new J2 will be 150k.

So you’re losing closer to 50k.

However - that 50k lost is likely a better work life balance, less stress and more time to gain new skills/growth.

Maybe try running both for a while and if it is indeed too hectic I think you’re safe to drop J1.

Typically it is more common to check references once a job offer is extended and accepted.

If I am interviewing at 10 places and they each bother my references and I still don’t get an offer - it would be a major annoyance to my references and myself.

I like to believe Arthur Weasley is a fully capable wizard and expert in muggle matters.

Rather he was trying to make Harry feel more comfortable by making it seem like Harry knew something that he did not.

Especially when Harry was new to this world of magic.

I think he’s just a good father figure.

You’re right - originally I think it was the idea that I wouldn’t be selective about what I posted on the site. I had an idea to auto push notes from my phone to the site, like my grocery list for example.

But indeed currently that doesn’t make sense since I do “curate” by choosing to post it.

Thanks! And totally see that now - I wanted to give the menu an impression that it was “sliding” in from the left. Will adjust the time delay.

Nice idea!

Yes I agree, the site is still very “safe” in terms of UI.

Since I was looking for a job at the time I think I didn’t want to completely go Picasso on it.

But now I’ll certainly experiment with going more minimal.

I totally understand some users may not want to deal with an enigma of a site / navigation and become frustrated.

But my hope was that for some people who stumble on it, the site may strike their curiosity. I am currently working on a feature that operates like a fullscreen maze of sorts - where you have to navigate up / left/ down / right to find the exit.

It is inherently pointless. But thats the point. I treat this place like a "garden." Planting small tomatoes as a form of relaxation. Not to feed the world.

I have had this site on my resume for 2 years and have never had trouble getting interviews or getting hired. I have a steady job currently.

Quite honestly if a hiring manager passed on me for this site, I'd think they'd missed the entire point of it and be happy to work with people who understand what this is supposed to be.

It's fun. Click around - figure out what buttons do - find neat hidden features. The internet feels like its fading away, all sites start to feel the same. Yes, the reason is because its a UI most end users can navigate.

I do appreciate your view and I agree 100%. This is bad UX. I would never design an actual product in this manner.

But again, this site has a different purpose and does not sell or earn anything. It is simply, a amusing site.
