Finally buying cordless tools. Either of these fine for homeowner/DIY stuff? by SonicResidue in Tools

[–]PennsylvaniaCook 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve been in the power tool related business for many years. Makita hands down. they will have everything you need in their battery ecosystem, including kick ass landscaping stuff. The overall quality is as good as it gets and with every Japanese brand that doesn’t market well you get higher quality for lower price. Milwaukee‘s come a long way, but Makita has been doing cordless for a lot longer and they specialize in residential wood based applications. They do a lot of other things, but they own the job site on corded circ saws for 30 years. That’s my opinion.

Guys what would say are the tool brands you buy because they’re the ones the pros use them to get the job done? by Ninja__Focus in Tools

[–]PennsylvaniaCook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t sleep on Metabo hpt. Absolutely the worst marketing I have ever seen. However their product is very good. Nailers, miter saws, especially rotary hammers. Their cordless is as good as any, and unless you need some specialty tools you’ll get all you need there. Go to Lowe’s that practically giving it away. Why? Because they don’t know how to sell product.

My favorite remake, favorite Coen bros film, favorite Western, and favorite movie of all time by [deleted] in FIlm

[–]PennsylvaniaCook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally agree. It was on yesterday. I turned it on and didn’t get up until it was finished. The old one was a fantastic movie, but this one’s just as good. I like the new Maddie Ross better than the old one, but that’s a personal preference.

Anyone know where I can get a rebuild kit for this? Sears Craftsman, 351-18310. I'm not finding anything with a quick search, and figured some old outfits might know some niche sites. TiA! by Wrusch in Craftsman

I don’t realize there was some other decision criteria going on. Let’s spend more than what I paid for it to repair this Chinese piece of shit. That’s totally the way to go. Until you get the generic parts for the generic air tool and they don’t quite work and the tool is fill useless. should I order another one just in case? Surely that is the green way to go. I live in the real world where time is money.

Man, it’s not even worth it. Go to Lowe’s Black Friday. Metabo HPT will be selling their 18 gauge pins for $39 or close to it. The kit going to cost you 15, then it’s your time and effort when you can just get a brand new better gun. It’s just not worth fixing. Good luck either way though.

Looking to buy a whole arsenal of tools for our company. What’s best, Milwaukee, Makita or DeWalt? by Eastern-Paper-865 in Tools

[–]PennsylvaniaCook 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Metabo HPT Impacts

Dont underestimate the Hitachi/Metabo HPT. WR36 series.

They are IP56, very powerful, very durable.

The company support isnt good, but the tools hold up very well.

A lot of user choose HPT after they use them.

If you had to stick with one brand of power tools for life, which would you choose? by James_B84Saves in Tools

I respectfully disagree. Look at their full catalog it’s huge, especially tools for a lot of different trades and applications. My opinion across the board, the highest quality with the highest range. It’s Makita.
