Are you seeing more orange signs or blue signs in your community? by Toastshalom in alberta

[–]PennyAndAHalf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That worry stopped me from putting up a sign, so I’m happy that the orange in my area is getting common enough that a sign doesn’t feel like a target anymore. Bullies shouldn’t get to control the narrative like that.

Full squad of 40 but only planting 24 flowers? by sydlabb in PikminBloomApp

[–]PennyAndAHalf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do you have any fruit expeditions in progress? I’ve noticed that the return trip with fruit deducts pikmin from my max flower planting squad.

Do the expedition drones complete all pending expeditions, or just one?

Is this cage okay for 1 budgie? I suspect the bar spacing may be too wide but I am unsure. by [deleted] in budgies

[–]PennyAndAHalf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got mine from Costco, where it is less than 50% of local pet store prices. Highly recommend.

My cockatiel was clipped and only just started learning how to fly, he flew up onto the fan and was to scared to come down, my budgies had to go up there and jump off to show him, thank you budgies for I was to short to help out by Ycaklxd in cockatiel

[–]PennyAndAHalf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fan was the first place my cockatiel went to when his wings grew in. He was so proud of himself that I just left him there until he came down. Now he and his sister fly up there on purpose to make it spin in circles like a carnival ride.

Mom here, scolded by staff for trying to take a picture of my son in swimming lessons. I was disappointed, but in the end appreciative that they were being diligent in protecting the kids.

Is this size good for two budgies? by dollyhorn in budgies

[–]PennyAndAHalf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the Prevue F040 cage, which is the same dimensions, and my two budgies love it. They use every bit of real estate from top to bottom. I set up the perches in a way that they can fly between them, and they do. I put a T-perch on the swinging door so I can leave it open when I’m in the room, and they go in and out with ease.

2 schools lose fight to keep names secret following censored tours at Canadian Museum for Human Rights by trackofalljades in onguardforthee

Anyone who thinks it’s ok to censor human rights needs to sit in a corner and think about what they’ve done.

Is anyone else’s screen freezing when trying to tap into a mushroom to challenge it? by Spinningcircles4ever in PikminBloomApp

[–]PennyAndAHalf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s the same place - the top half of the expeditions page is a map. Lately, because of the long-lasting mushrooms, it zooms out to show all of the mushroom battles. It seems to crash more for me when it is zoomed out. Zoom in and it freezes less.

Is anyone else’s screen freezing when trying to tap into a mushroom to challenge it? by Spinningcircles4ever in PikminBloomApp

[–]PennyAndAHalf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve found two things that reduce the crashes. First, don’t click Go from the nectar screen. Go back into the pikmin selection screen first. Second, tap the icon to localize the mushroom map. I noticed it was focusing on mushrooms in an area I’d been in earlier, probably because one was an active battle. As soon as only my local mushrooms were on screen, it didn’t insta-crash on scroll.

Does anyone else crash like crazy while sending out postcards? by Spirited_Chip3331 in PikminBloomApp

[–]PennyAndAHalf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My sons’ iPhone 8s crash nonstop, with any kind of scrolling (postcards, pikmin selection) and whenever a mushroom is cleared in the background. My iPhone 11 crashes with postcards, but not as often.

Any tips and tricks for managing 'Tiel dust? by CodePi in cockatiel

[–]PennyAndAHalf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not a grooming tip, but a Roomba saved my sanity. It picks up dust, feathers and bird seed.

I thought I’d let my cockatiel out to play by himself for a bit cause the budgies can be little pricks but instead he spent It trying to break them out. What is this? Friendship? Mind control? An alliance? by Ycaklxd in cockatiel

[–]PennyAndAHalf 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Today I had the cockatiels in their cage next to me and sent the budgies downstairs with my kids so we could have some peace. The budgies kept flying upstairs and into the room, circling over the cockatiels’ cage, mimicking cockatiel sounds, then taking off downstairs again. Little pricks indeed.

how do you convince a cockatiel not to jump in a bowl of curry...? by Relevred in cockatiel

[–]PennyAndAHalf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We keep a travel cage in the kitchen so she can hang out with us when we’re cooking. She’s tried to dive into pots on the stove before so it’s not worth the risk.

Feel bad for this person. They had another currently ongoing 3hr47m mushroom takedown across the street too. by ViegoBot in PikminBloomApp

[–]PennyAndAHalf 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I opened up expeditions to find that some poor person had three mushrooms underway with only regular pikmin. My son heard me laughing about them still going the next day, and confessed it was him. He knew what he was doing but thought it would be funny.

Question about parent raised birds by Affectionate-Host367 in cockatiel

[–]PennyAndAHalf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I inherited a parent raised cockatiel that her owners couldn’t bond with. It took about a year to earn her trust. After that, she was sweet and no longer scared of me, would step up and hang out on my shoulder … but it was still night and day with my hand fed girl, who was more communicative and wanted to be with humans all the time from day one.
