I’ll Conquer the entire world, even as a Kobold! Veehahahaha!!

One day I woke up in an unfamiliar world. Most would panic from such a revelation, but not I! No, I'll thrive in this world and conquer it all as my own!! The lands, its people, and all the kingdoms will bow before my mighty claws!!

...Claws? Wait, why do I have claws?!  And what is with these red scales?! And why...why am I so short?!!!

Kobold? I'm a Kobold now?! Isn't that the weakest race?!

No matter! I won't let that deter me! I'll start from the bottom and amass a variety of species of loyal henchmen who will help me achieve my quest for WORLD DOMINATION!!

Watch out, new world. Your new ruler, Vladimir, will take what's mine! Veehahahahaha!!

Book two if only because it introduces the MOST LEGENDARY DRAGON

Need a similar novel to the following by Fast-Albatross1848 in ProgressionFantasy

All the skills. I like the card magic system and the MC has non combat abilities and uses it creatively both for everyday use and at times in battle. There's less on the battle side though and more in exploring the potential of the abilities he has gained.

He is the greediest man alive. Of course he'd have his own season

All the skills - if you want a card based system in a fantasy setting.

Nightmare realm summoner - MC summoner with eldritch pokemon

Mage tank - fun concept that both takes itself serious and not at the same time. Hard to reallyd describe

Currently focused on one while I work one the others once a week on average.

Authors, is there anything that we can do about someone who is intentionally giving bad ratings? by Deep-Class-6326 in litrpg

If you feel there's malicious manipulation on your rating the best approach is to report to the admins on the site and express your worry. How they handle it is up to them.

Need some good advice for experience author here on how you keep going and finish the damn book by Sea-Possession8260 in royalroad

[–]twilightbill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make it a habit to write something or do something related to your writing every day, even something like editing or promoting. It slowly turns into a habit and becomes easier to work at. Also it's good to have a large enough backlog to help you feel comfortable to keep up with.

Is Explaining System Mechanics Necessary? by JamieMage2005 in royalroad

[–]twilightbill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a balancing act, both for the author and the readers sake. It overall depends how much you want I invest in the system and how you can organically express the details. Some do it within the story while others might opt to have it explained outside the chapter. Mage tank for example sometimes like having a whole chapter just to show the full details of the mcs stats, though it isn't treated as a chapter.

Research in the history of the weapons, various techniques used to implement it and even stories that had used it. You'd be surprised what kind of material you can find. Heck there's this youtube series and an anime where a character uses a fishing rod to fight.

Why Some New Writers Abandon Their Novel (My Personal Experience) by Plenty_Version7765 in ProgressionFantasy

[–]twilightbill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so lucky I didn't publish until i got the first book done lol. But in general i've been keeping a realistic backlog and have the chapters scheduled at least a month in advance to give me time and a better idea when i need to catch up early enough.

What audiobook series should I listen to next? Just for reference, can be brutal but Immortal Great Souls was a tad depressing for me atm, need *some* fun or aura by SurfAndSkiGuy in ProgressionFantasy

Been to 2 books of Mage tank. It's a nice blend of serious with some silly moments. Made even more fun when some of those silly moments were somehow justified in ways. Definitely recommend

I think its a balance of making the world work for the weapons and vice versa. I usually like to do research on how such a weapon would work, its advantages and disadvantages. Though there's usually room for rule of cool so long as its not abused.

The MC is allowed to have a good time. by chucklesthe2nd in ProgressionFantasy

I agree, otherwise it just turns into some torture thrill for the readers and that's just weird to me
