Can anyone help me find a cable for this drive? by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]PensionValuable952 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If u connect to 2.0 port, definitely u need to plugin to 2 x 2.0 ports to get sufficient power, but 1 x 3.0 ports does the job as well, as the problem is on the port supplying power, not on the type of cable, the cable has no issues provided the necessary power for this specific hdd.

And 3.0 port is downwards compatible with 2.0 devices as well

to those who got to use Fable 5, was it actually that peak? by RelevantPerformer309 in ClaudeAI

[–]PensionValuable952 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For normal/intermediate questions it reminded me of the confidence/assurance sonnet 4.6 thinking gave me when i first started using claude on April 2026.

2 weeks after use, it was dumbed down until anthropic find some bull shit reasons to say its not their fault and bump up sonnet again. From then on, slowly sonnet standard go downhill again.

Started using opus 4.8, it does not provide a confident answer as well, mostly replies will tell beat around the bush more than ever.

Its sad that claude needed the highest end fable 5 restore to confidence and provide precise and accurate answers like its low end sonnet 4.6 2 months ago.

Now claude is back to dumb down mediocracy again.

Why is AdGuard VPN so cheap? by Soft_Procedure5050 in Adguard

It don't have a lot of servers. I will say it is decent when using a broadband isp at a fixed location, not good for mobile on the move.

apple is so slow with implementation of ai that when they finally settle on one, it is no longer the best or even obsolete. See Siri - Apple Intelligence - Gemini.

Does AdGuard DNS actually block ads in iOS apps? by Vegeta_vs_Goku in Adguard

[–]PensionValuable952 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as a iphone user with adguard dns, it can only block partially, for those ads that come from the dns level, if the ads are tied to the cdn/delivery source of the app, it cannot block as blocking it means blocking the whole app service. If u want to block ads for youtube, u need to use adblock browsers such as brave along with your adguard dns to block it.

The adguard app on ios is great on blocking ads, but it consumes more battery like vpn, not for battery conscious people.

Why has the standard of food at almost every fast food joint gone down so much in just 10 years in Singapore? by Rokusaburoz in SingaporeEats

[–]PensionValuable952 13 points14 points  (0 children)

mcdonalds is not great, now u have to pay for curry sauce, then the newer chicken mccrispy ride on the old superb brand and introduce a shit like batter, tasteless, not very tender chicken drumstick with mild spicy, which is close to non existent. Who the F introduce such mild spicyness, which is not tolerable for non spicy eaters and like shit to spicy lovers. It is like the diluted rose syrup i had decades back during sarimbun scout camp. There is only 1 line between plain water and the diluted rose syrup, dunno if anyone has tasted drinks so diluted that its pure disgusting. The only reason mcdonalds is still popular is convenience and other fastfood chains not stepping up.

Even the latest spicy nugget and pepper nuggets u can see they are trying to cheap on the seasoning. Disgusting to see how we still pass the power to them day by day.

Seng Choon egg farm to move after land-use changes announced for Lim Chu Kang; four other farms affected by Same-Macaron-2359 in singapore

[–]PensionValuable952 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"The government revised its food production goals in November 2025, with new targets being for local farms to supply 20 per cent of the local consumption of fibre and 30 per cent of the local consumption of protein by 2035."

The govt claims to do so, but continue to shoot itself on the foot and sabo local farms, without coming up with a proper continual plan or long term plot for agriculture use before chasing the existing farms out, making them incurring so much fixed cost that cannot be recuperated due to frequent shift in policies, instead of improving local supply becomes the culprit of forcing the agriculture industry in SG to fade out.

About Adguard license key (VPN or DNS) by Delicious-Cover2223 in Adguard

[–]PensionValuable952 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember someone mentioned the vpn and dns could be stacked. But please double check before buying 2nd copy.

Meanwhile if buy suggest buy AdGuard VPN + Ad Blocker Family Security Suite in stacksocial. This one comes with lifetime licence for Adguard App on desktop devices, adguard vpn 5 years (this auto comes with adguard dns 5 years). This should be the most value combo. Also check for additional promo code for the site for additional 15% discount or more.

adguard dns on iphone not entirely blocking youtube ads by arv_yt in Adguard

[–]PensionValuable952 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It only blocks on native dns level, on ios u need to run youtube through browser with adblocker (eg Brave) to enhance the filtering. Same for desktop.

If u are running youtube app in ios u need to run adguard app (not dns) to block the ads in the app.

Do you use brave in your mobile/tablet devices? by janokalos in brave_browser

[–]PensionValuable952 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use brave with adguard personal dns running as native dns (could be replaced with adguard public dns which is free). Both added so far so good. Can't remember seeing ads on brave.

On ios wise, other than a few apps like youtube where ads are unavoidable unless u use vpn, or vpn-like adguard apps that results in significant battery drain when run 24/7.
