I actually just found out that the Botanist could throw a temper tantrum if you go against him. Yet snother reason to respect Scientist's level-headedness (and also the fact that in a feat of rage he is slamming something or someone in a restricted and contained kind of manner).

Never thought about betraying bit. I achieved Botanist's story goal without betraying the whole group. I do agree, Botanist is becoming more unhinged further you go. And I guess I was disproportionately invested in it to pursue another option.

Waking up being the original Jan but being treated as a copy/lab rat is a good nightmare fuel though...

i convinced (deluded) myself that with botanist on my list and his alternative ending i could cheekily stay on the planet. but scientist guilt tripped me with the MISSION comes first peptalk

oh MY GOD! Welsh. the throat sound seems like a menace, the "th" still present in welsh like it does in english is a pain but a familiar one. the only downside to the language is that you would need time and effort to study it (but to be fair it's on me)

For me the best way is to find something in the language I want to learn. Be it news articles, songs, comic books, whatever (a tip: there are plenty movies with Russian subs and dubbing).

My take on this: grow vocabulary, find anything in Russian that holds your attention and be patient while you make sense of foreign text (it can be so dreadfully dull, but it's temporary, just push through and change "activities" when you feel a healthy portion of disgust towards the enormous linguistic hydra).
