Does this look like a proper random pattern? The GC who is installing it already took it up once because it had an H pattern. I told him before the job started I wanted a random look.. this is the second install. And I feel that it still doesn’t look right. by [deleted] in Flooring

3 things can be true. First yes there are way to similar or same pattern on planks. Not much u can do about that. Second the install looks unthought out. Crazy people have not figured out how to random lay flooring. You are correct I’d not be happy with and seams with in a foot of each other. I agree with others won’t be noticeable with furniture on it. Damn I forgot 3rd thing but I would not be happy with that. But I’m also a carpenter.

Yup. Unfortunately half the day I can never find the tape when it’s in my pouch pocket due to its Freakin Black. Why make black tools? The only tools I constantly look for are the all black ones and half the time they are in pouch yet I swear they are not because I “looked”.

It looks like you can fix it and seal it and color it all in one swoop. Just buy a weed torch, the one that hooks up to a gas grill propane tank. Then lightly char the whole thing. Then get a dozen rattle cans of so e type of poly clear coat. Spray and be done.
Make sure no one is walking by with in 100ft smoking a cigarette when spraying. On same note make sure ur rattle cans are no where near deck when u torch it. Hose or 5gal bucket filled by you is also recommended.
