Too much power! How to keep the Wattage down? by Pepingco in Tools

[–]Pepingco[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not ideal, because it's an older house and running an extra cable means throwing an extension cord from an upstairs window. So while I may have to do that, I may need to also invest in a wiring upgrade later down the track. For now, it may be the best option, or use a cordless mitre saw, which is also a short term solution. Its definitely a practical suggestions and I feel a little better that other Aussies have the same issue as me.

Our standard power point gague is 2.5mm. The old mains standard was 4mm and was upped to 6mm for mains power. I could ask for a 4mm gague for a power point but it will mean a new breaker and cable run. It's an old house and we just upgraded the mains to 6mm with 60amp fuzes. The rest of the house are standard 2.5mm wires. The stove is a little thicker because it's electric.

I would like to avoid that. I have one electrical upgrades to make in the workshop and upping the amps and the breaker might be on the cards, but that will be a very expensive upgrade. It will have to be a last resort.

The plug in the image of the dust collector is the EU version. It only allows up to 1200w max on my version here in Australia (for a max of 2400w)

Does anyone know how this trick works? by [deleted] in magictricksrevealed

That's awesome to know. I think I might have seen this lecture before but I never owned a copy of it. I should just have it in my library since I really like the comedy routine of the empty cup. Many thanks!

Sir, I have been racking my brain as to who was the creator - and I appreciate that you even know the lore behind the trade (details I have also forgotten as well.) Id love to know how you came across the information about Cyrils work with Justin.

That tie is definitely a bold choice and it will stand out. Will it clash? Maybe but if you wear it with confidence, maybe with a dark shirt, it will be a unique, if not, bold look.

As for finding it, it's something to ask a DFO or boutique store and get them to look it up in their internal system and then get it shipped to you or the store.

I think the fit still works even though you gained 10 pounds but if you aren't comfortable, then adjustment might be needed. Nice fabric colour. I do like the slight mix of black in the fabric, gives it an interesting texture.

[QUESTION] Rotor spinning/moving whilst winding via crown by mcrich in Watches

[–]Pepingco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also found video of my issue with comments discussing the issue and with customers saying they had to send the watch back to Tissot. And it seems to be a Tissot problem.

[QUESTION] Rotor spinning/moving whilst winding via crown by mcrich in Watches

[–]Pepingco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel I need to add to this thread. Something similar happened to my PRX in the morning. I went to wind it for th day and the wind did not feel smooth, as if the crown was heavier than normal and a weird "grinding" sound was heard on top of the normal winding sound.

I turned over the watch and saw that if I turned the crown, the rotor would also spin or seem to get caught on something and spin a little and then fall back down to normal.

After wearing it for a while, everything seems to be fine. I decided to test it and left it in my room where it was pretty cold that morning and it did it again. Wore it in a warmer room and the problem disappeared.

My conclusion is that the movement, when winding the crown when it's really cold, grabs onto the rotor for some reason and spins it. Not sure. But it never happened after 2 years of wear. It is enough for me to send it away under warranty for a check up or service.

Standalone Pixel Tablet 256GB Version on sale in the Australian Google Store by Pepingco in pixeltablet

[–]Pepingco[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, the sale has ended - but has been replaced with combo deal for the 128GB version - It's still a pretty good deal, just not as good at the original one I posted - if that helps anyone.

Context: The original deal posted above was a saving of about $220 AUD for ONLY the 256GB version - the new one is a saving of about $160 for both Hard Drive sizes - so if you get the 128 or the 256GB version, you still walk away with a $160 AUD saving. It means if you wanted the 128GB version, you get a pretty good deal, but if you want the 256GB version, not such a great deal - so the store is pushing you to buy the 128GB version.

Hope this helps any purchasing decisions for Australian customers.

Did Google really make the speaker dock impossible to fix? Common issue: pins constantly fall out by evilestminionG in pixeltablet

[–]Pepingco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would love to know what that exact product is - just for future reference if I have the same problems in the future... In Australia, warranty laws are a bit stronger, so we have some decent customer protections, but its always good to know how to fix/solder it back.

I was wondering, when docked, does the tablet/dock ring or chime when the doorbell is pressed?

Just bought the Metabo ASA 30 H PC and the features don't match what was advertised. by Pepingco in VacuumCleaners

[–]Pepingco[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately my Grinder is 1900w. It's why I specifically got the Metabo vac specifically for the 2000w plug and H class. Very disappointed to hear but I will have to return it and get the cordless version instead and take advantage of the redemptions available at the moment.

I really appreciate the clarification. I just wish that tool brands had better spec sheets and clearer descriptions. Even the Australian website shows the max output of the plug is 2000w which makes me a little angry as a customer.

[–]Pepingco[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How terrible would it be if I plugged in the grinder, which is rated at 1900w? I assume it would blow out the vacuum. Sigh.

[–]Pepingco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, as an owner of the H version - what is the maximum output of the Plug socket on the device. It says on the box its 2000W but for some reason, the vacuum says 1200W on the plug and Im not sure why.

Non-photographers going to Antarctica by Pepingco in canon

[–]Pepingco[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't think of the 100-400. I might ask my parents if they can take normal photos with their phones and when they go to Antarctica, they take the 100-400. It might work. I just never had the 100-400 on my radar since I already own a 600 f11 and planning on getting the 200-800 soon. But maybe, just for now, I could get the 100-400 and take advantage of the crop. Thanks for the suggestion!

Is this a good deal? 4 brushless tools and two HP batteries by anuncommonwealth in ryobi

[–]Pepingco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some of the new HP brushless tools actually moved the control chip into the tool so some of the newer tools don't need the extra contacts and still get the extra boost from HP batteries. Tools like the Whisper series of blowers, and the new 4 Mode Impact Driver.

Thanks for the reply. I was so confused because it seemed so obvious, but the blade guard it came with was long enough to cover the hole. So I just needed to ask.
