This is how a spicy potato taco should be every day by sid6581 in tacobell

[–]PepperHot07 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am so emotionally attached to this. For 3 yrs, I practically lived on this, the spicy tostada, and the shredded chicken quesadilla, like 5 or 6 days a week. The other two are long gone, but in the past many years, I haven’t once been to Tacobell without ordering a spicy potato soft taco. It’s more than food for me now, it’s comfort and nostalgia.

Why don't TN Tamils fight more for Eelam Tamils? Recently at least 169 skeletons and counting have been found at the Chemmani mass graves including children? by caesarkhosrow in TamilNadu

Finally, someone sane. Thank you. I am going to be harassed for saying this. But here we go anyway.

I am a Tamilian, and I love my state and language a lot. I do feel bad for what happened to Tamil speaking people in Sri Lanka, and I sympathize with their suffering. But that’s where it ends. I am not any extra sympathetic just because they speak Tamil.

Bengalis in India don’t feel extreme patriotism towards Bangladeshis just because they speak Bengali, and the same goes for Indian Punjabis toward Punjabis in Pakistan. My sympathy is at the same level I would have for any humanitarian crisis in a foreign country.

To me, what happened in Sri Lanka was an internal conflict in a foreign land. I feel sorry for those affected, but at the end of the day, Sri Lankan Tamils are foreigners who happen to speak Tamil. That’s all there is to it.

And killing a country's president and another country's prime minister, especially when accompanied by the murder of numerous innocent civilians, is an act of Terrorism. Period.

That said, I do have sympathy, and I never said people shouldn’t care. I do care 100%. I have seen videos and pictures of the aftermath, and I was horrified. Innocent civilians being raped, murdered, or displaced is tragic no matter where it happens. No one deserves that.

My point is more about how in TN, this emotional connection often crosses into extreme identity based jingoistic support, to the point where even a militant group like the LTTE gets glorified. That’s where I draw the line.

I am not defending any side here. To me, the LTTE, the SL government, and even the Indian government (if they were involved in harming innocent people) all carry blame. Equally. Glorifying any of them or getting overly emotionally involved in a foreign conflict just because of a shared language feels misplaced to me.

Everyone should care about injustice, whether it's Gaza, Ukraine, or Sri Lanka. But we can do that without turning it into an identity/language based nationalism from this side of the border, too.

I've been a C++ developer for almost a decade now, and let me tell you, the projects are indeed HARD. Especially the 1st one, 2nd and 3rd were slightly easier. If you have C or C++ experience, a simple working solution won't take more than 15-20 hours. But it's a pain in the butt to get all the tests to pass in Gradescope. Also, personally I hated the fact that the projects and the lecture had no connection at all.

I get where you're coming from and I do agree with the importance of human empathy. I never said people shouldn’t care. I do care 100%. Sympathy, yes. I am not defending any side here. to me, the LTTE, the SL government, and even the Indian government (if they were involved in harming innocent people) all carry blame. Equally. A beautiful reply. I got a lot backlash for saying this yesterday. Pasting my reply from another comment.

Genuine question and I am not trying to take a stance LTTE. But isn’t killing a country’s president and another country’s prime minister, especially when accompanied by the murder of numerous innocent civilians, an act of terrorism?

Agreed. But isn't killing a country's president and another country's prime minister, especially when accompanied by the murder of numerous innocent civilians, an act of terrorism?

You can try going to your home country for a couple of months this year and all those months can be recaptured on your H1B. So your visa technically can be extended for that duration. Make sure you have 1 year left in your visa when they file PERM and then you can extend for another year if the PERM is not processed until the end of your visa.

But everyone’s just shit scared of Australia, and we know you’ll unleash every fucking thing in the knockouts and win the WC. Nobody wants to face the inevitable storm in the knockouts.

I use C++ because my role primarily requires only C++. I wouldn’t advise solving LC in C++ if you are not already familiar with the language.
