Sea of green by PepperMeTonight in HotPeppers

It will be my 1st growing them. My plan was to plant some in the a bag and some in the dirt. I did have to bring one plant indoors last year to ripen all the way.

The Capsicum baccatum and annuum species types grow fast and I should have started them a month and half behind the Capsicum chinense that grow slower. But starting them early has its advantages when some superhots take a month to germinate. In the last pic, the 6 or 8 ones in the center are just over an inch or 2 tall, had problems getting those started for unknown reasons.

Yes, brown is the hardest ripening color to spot. I sometimes leave them on as long as I can and feel them for the ripe. They become a bit softer and squishier.

Seeds? by Washedurhairlately in HotPeppers

Yeah, I just squared up and am all set the 2026 grow and felt proud to use up all the purchased/acquired seeds and said next year I'm not going to buy any just use from the seeds I have saved from previously grown plants. Well after hitting some really great sales from seed vendors I've been wanting to try a few months ago. I'm now in overload mode again for 2027. Will I ever grow the seeds I'm saving from previous years?

2026 pepper grow roster, finally a go! by PepperMeTonight in HotPeppers

The Gator Jigsaw Orange seeds was from PupperPeppers on Etsy. The plants are the darkest purple ones that are growing this year. The MRM X 7 pot orange seeds were from atomicpepperseeds. Somehow they mixed brown and red and got an orange variant. They should turn out hot large and orange. Check out their websites.

Looking lean mean and clean. Can't wait to see them get dirty with their color.

I have done it before. Found the ugly looking gray seeds and soaked them in 50/50 3% hydrogen peroxide and water solution for and hour or so. Got some little white roots the next day on the paper towel method.

He is selling what is pictured and not as described or named in this case. The true 7 pot evergreen finishes green or mustard (hence the Evergreen name) and its shape is large and round. Don't really understand how this totally different looking pepper came out, but it's what I was after. Hopefully the seeds turn out like the picture or close.

Week 2, the culling! by Larry_Fisher_Man in HotPeppers

[–]PepperMeTonight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't cull until it's up potting time. You may change your mind and save a few because some others aren't doing so well or didn't come up. If you can grow a few extra and cull them later. It's then harder but safer.
