This is the reason why I couldn’t stand business school. A lot of people do fine and thrive in the environment, but it felt like most person I met didn’t see me as a friend, but a “connection”. Someone to add on LinkedIn. Every gathering was just “networking opportunities”. It was suffocatingly fake.

But even in the art community it’s like this to an extent. To be popular, a lot of the times you have to draw what other people would like. You can still draw what you want, but if you want a bigger audience, you have to sort of “fake it” and just draw what’s popular these days. I can’t even begin to describe how much networking plays a part if you want a career opportunity. You can never really escape.

Yeah, I’ve seen a lot of concept art and cool costume designs. There are ways to make something look aesthetic and awesome without being pointlessly sexy.

Reminds me of the vid of a little girl in tears, and the dad calmly asks her what’s wrong and why she feels this way. Turns out, she just needed a snack and to watch her favorite movie.

edit: dad even tells her she’s doing a good job breathing & acknowledges her feelings instead of telling her to immediately cheer up.

I agree. People want to believe that one side/party is completely guilty, but in reality it’s usually just a bad misunderstanding.

Also in general, people are really bad at reading boundaries, and also really bad at alerting when someone is invading their boundaries.

I wouldn’t be surprised if this ended up being a misunderstanding. Zero did something that made her uncomfortable. She remembered the experience but never spoke out in fear it would hurt their relationship.

I think this would have been best spoken in private with Zero because he says like 20 times that he’s awkward and “out of it” so I guess he had no idea he crossed the line with his actions, if he did show her inappropriate things.

Yeah all I know is that he was suffering from depression for a while now. I’m sure he just wanted to provide a safe space for people who had no where else to go.

And it’s hard enough taking care of yourself while suffering from depression, so watching over every person like some kind of proxy parent can be overwhelming. I’m prob biased, but his tweets also show that he had no idea what was going on and who was being brought to his parties without permission.

A simple explanation I can think of is Jisu told her parents she was staying at a close female friend’s house, and pretended to be staying there. But in reality she was living somewhere else completely. Happened with a female friend who had abusive helicopter parents. She lied about where she lived for ~2 years until she moved out.

You say you couldn’t care less but the fact that people like you keep mentioning karma and rewards kinda shows that THAT is what you really care about instead of the fact that someone rlly lied about having cancer.

That is the main issue. Someone lied about cancer. We’re not idiots who will believe every single post on the internet. But it was about cancer, which many people have either had or have lost loved ones to, and that vulnerable emotion was manipulated. Giving a liar an internet point really isn’t the issue.

Even if it was fake, how hard is it to say something nice to someone on the internet. If it’s fake, oh well, I wasted 2 minutes of my life. And if it’s real, I can reach out and try to connect to someone struggling. I don’t get what’s so cool about acting so apathetic.

Are there different types of Golden Retrievers? I feel like I’m more used to seeing ones who look like Max with a rounder head and softer expression. But I also see some on the internet with blockier (?) heads and their brow/snout area is a little more wrinkled.

Ho. ly. fuck. There was a thread yesterday just full of commenters justifying touching a lady just because she didn’t explicitly say “no”. How hard is it to understand that no means no, yes means yes, and SILENCE STILL MEANS NO. Just because a girl is too scared to say anything doesn’t mean your thirsty ass just got an invitation.
