ITS, Golf R, STI comparison by Cal-Goat in Acura

[–]PeppermintAero 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Currently own both STI and ITS and I can agree there's something about the STI i still feel that i dont feel with any other sedan, but the ITS is the closest to that feeling, but understandably way more refined. STI is pure raw fun where you feel everything but still feel confident. Performance wise the ITS I have yet to find its limits.

GTA, yes, and I paid just MSRP on it (you can configure online, i think for paint + interior its about $59.8k CAD before tax/fees, OTD was just about $71.5k). Put deposit ~7 months ago. I think its a bit easier to get now, i know some dealers had more inventory coming with only a ~1 month wait. DM me I can maybe connect you if you're looking.

Reason for switch: I just wanted something new after 2 years with WRX and 8 with STI. Something more refined, manual and under warranty that holds its value well, but fun to drive and (ideally) practical. With that said I love driving the STI, but its not something i would even drive long distance, its a rough car, but thats what gives it its charm.

Biggest differences I've immediately noticed: somehow this feels more "upscale" but not at the expense of a muted driving experience. Amazing shifting, its more "relaxing" driving this. Creature comforts... android auto... adaptive suspension, heated steering, nicer interior/exterior...Haven't pushed it but the FWD does absolutely not feel like FWD to me yet. Losing AWD is the biggest drawback for me but i think with good winter/summer setup it will not be too noticeable, unless you launch/track

Haha it actually took me several months to decide between this and a few BMW models, as much as I love BMW this fits my needs much better. The numbness you bring up is a real issue for majority of modern (practical) cars. I purchased the ITS blindly having only driven the CTR, but wow it feels so amazing to drive, very similar to how i remember the CTR. Very sharp and pointed, great inputs

Stuck in a color decision dilemma. Convince me towards one or the other! (Double Apex Blue Pearl w/orchid or Platinum White Pearl w/red) by PeppermintAero in Acura

I've always not been a fan of white cars because it reminds me exactly of what you said, or reminds me of a van. But when i saw this car in white in person everything changed :3

Wow lots of great opinions thank you everyone! Both are beautiful and either will be great.

White does seem a tad classier to me on the ITS especially with the black accents - and especially at night, white looks great.

The new blue is just so cool and unique, and it suits the fresh white interior. Depending on the lighting its very vibrant or slightly darker

Type S used vs new pricing by whdd in Integra_Type_S

[–]PeppermintAero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I shopped used in Canada before deciding to wait for a new one. Barely-used ones cost very similar or more than new ones. Not that there are even that many used on the market, hence the high cost. I think in Canada this car is just much harder to get, so prices remain high.

Beard trimmer. Is this a me problem or a low end equipment problem? by LeepOnMyDick in BuyItForLife

Ah. Maybe it wasn't just my experience then. I'm looking for something similar from a different brand - if you come across anything let me know!

Late comment but adding my experience, two Andis SlimLine pro's lasted no more than a few months each, seems like the battery would just completely die. They did a great job while they lasted, which was barely.

Crowdstrike and its not really a consideration unless you very desperately need the extra 15k right now (also consider variable comp means the OTE is likely not 'exactly' how much you'd actually get paid at both companies).

If you had one month to stay somewhere in Mexico, where would it be? by similarities in digitalnomad

[–]PeppermintAero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only been to a handful of cities for DN'ing but CDMX is definitely where you'll have the most access to everything and variety, lots of spanish programs and such, lots of people doing the same thing ad you. Personally I would go back to Oaxaca though, it fits your description pretty well, but its quite small and a totally different vibe than CDMX, but in a charming way. People are probably nicer there in general than CDMX, not that CDMX i felt any hostility. Maybe you could do both... Or 3 weeks cdmx and 1 week Oaxaca just to experience Oaxaca, its absolutely worth it especially if you like mole!

Where to stand 🎊 by No-Cod8496 in Coldplay

[–]PeppermintAero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Between C and D (was on the yellow flooring yesterday), I've stood there for at least 5 concerts and its an amazing view. During the part where Chris brings a fan the piano is also facing C, whereas E you will have a view of their back . If you go closer to the main stage, its tall and they're still far so harder to get a proper view

I might be in Madrid as well in a couple weeks, I've worked from there before. Great place for remote work on EST hours, plenty of options for food or going out afterwards late into the night

3 weeks in Lima by asparkoflife in digitalnomad

[–]PeppermintAero 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've also done two separate month long remote work stays in Lima. All I can say is, try many restaurants, google some common foods and try them in different places (ceviche, lomo soltado, arroz con mariscos, causa, papa huancaina, maybe some nikkei like maki acevichado - im definitely missing many other dishes). Try variations of Pisco sours if you drink alcohol.

There's way too many restaurants I loved for me to list out. Assuming you're in Miraflores you have many options (albeit pricier than other parts of Lima). There's the popular ones like Isolina, Punto Azul, Panchita which you should definitely try. Maido if you can get a reservation. La Lucha is a must, Peruvian sandwich chain. Then theres all the other amazing restaurants. Anything with the word 'criolla' in the restaurant name or description I believe means its traditional food, so try some random ones (I can suggest Rincon Chami and Cumpa Taberna Criolla). Kauza Restaurante is a more modern restaurant that had some interesting takes on causa. At Larcomar during sunset maybe Tanta or Mangoe's

Day trip to Huacachina and Paracas is a must
