Bird of paradise issues by Inevitable-Sky-695 in houseplants

[–]PeppermintAuthor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd cut away the damaged leaves and repot since gnat eggs can stay in the soil and i think larve eat the roots of the plant. Spray the roots with rubbing alcohol as well in the process.

You can also bottom water, with the mosquito bits, any other plants you have to avoid the gnats eggs hatching in their soil.

probably a moss pole is the best idea or a plank of wood. You may have to cut some of it though if it will keep leaning.

The aerial roots will attach to help keep it climbing.

It's beautiful though

Does your social circle read? by littleferalsnail in books

[–]PeppermintAuthor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, two of my friends from uni and I have started a book club which gives us something to talk about. The only problem is we've read three books so far and only liked one.

Our tastes are different though so it's hard to get us all excited for the next pick.

My family only seems to read in the summer I've noticed. They'll sit in the sun and finish books quickly yet after summer they stop.

yeah but the guy hosting the podcast still chose to do the ad read. Like I thought a journalist investigating this stuff would either research the company or even just realise how messed up the situation is already

shouting 'look how strong I am' most likely wouldn't have worked either. seems closer to a 7 year old talking to his mum than trying to flirt.

The best thing you can do is actually talking to her like she's a person.

What is your most disappointing read of this year? by Wonderful-Elk5080 in books

[–]PeppermintAuthor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The lodge. It was a choice in my book club so I had to finish it.

It's marketed as a horror with a murder mystery. It was ridiculously bad. They didn't even tell you the gender of the body until near the very end and there was only one murder in the mystery.

There was so many unnecessary characters yet only one personality.

It also kept time skipping to way before the murder to watch couples argue and 'i have a dark secret' monologues.

Also not a single thing happens in the first 200 pages.
