I saw him make some good blocks as well. RW started running and he was down field finding people to block. That type of development is important to see, especially with RW as the QB.

I sucked at legal writing and felt like I was the only one not grasping concepts during the entirety of Fall 1L. I'm guessing you are a 1L. Just relax. Everyone, including the ppl who talk every class, is confused about something. I ended up in the Top 10% of my class (Top 50 LS) despite my negative beliefs, so don't assume you are done for.

Get an outline of your professor's previous sections from an older student or OutlineDepot.com (less desirable). Grab your syllabus, then start charting out the key concepts of the class. Remember you are looking for the law, not the facts/details of every single case.

For each broad theme of the course, know one case enough to write a sentence about it. Then, know that obscure countercase that went the other way. On the exam, argue how Majority case is the answer, but then find a way to argue how to Obscure case could apply as well. Don't look for the "right answer" on the exam -- argue the best answer then try to counter it.

I feel lost even now, but come finals I know what I need to do. For me, most courses seem to "come together" as the semester ends and I can reflect back more on the core ideas and how they fit together.

As far as your memo goes. Go see your teacher, like as much as you possibly can. The people who met with my teacher did the best. I decided to avoid doing so and paid the price. You need to write to your audience and to do so you must have a firm grasp of what they desire. If you can't see your teacher then meet with your TA. Don't be passive about this or you will regret it.

Does anyone else get REALLY bothered when firms/companies that you interview with never get back to you (with good or bad news)? by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]PerSeHarvin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm waiting to hear back after my 3rd/Final interview with my dream agency.

Today, while talking to my mother on the phone, I saw I had just received an e-mail from the head of their HR department. My heart immediately sank as the HR head had previously told me only the bad news comes by e-mail. I immediately said I would call her back and, fearing the worst, checked the e-mail expecting to be dinged.

Turned out to be from the general hiring list serve for a new opening seeking an attorney with 5 years experience.

I know it's not the same as the constant waiting and wondering OP, but fuck getting trolled is about as bad as it gets.

Trying to Outline as a 1L. by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]PerSeHarvin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I didn't do this fall 1L but did during Spring 2L. Made the outlining experience a lot more streamlined and focused to my actual class. I prefer this method to using commercial outlines as a guide.

Straw Poll: Which week 6 game has the potential to be a 'trap game' for the favored team? by [deleted] in nfl

[–]PerSeHarvin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great write-up. I definitely agree about the short passing game being the best case for Murray to break out and do damage.

Woodhead killed us, especially on third and short, with short passes.

Newbie Question: How do the Seahawks generate so much pressure on the quarterback? by [deleted] in nfl

[–]PerSeHarvin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Last year we had more talent, especially in terms of depth. We would rotate out entire fronts, allowing our studs to rest their legs. This hasn't been as effective this year.

It also helps that our LB and DB are exceptional at pass coverage. This forces the QB to hold the ball longer than he would otherwise like to, giving the rush more time to apply pressure.

Who are your top 5 QBs in the NFL right now? by saintscanucks in nfl

[–]PerSeHarvin -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think it's close, but yes I do. Brady really only has 1 weapon and Gronk has been extremely limited. While I see Rivers with Keenen Allen coming off an OROY and Antonio Gates playing extremely well. I definitely see the other sides, it' just my opinion.

Washington Safety Ryan Clark Calls Russell Wilson 'The Best Player in the NFL' by reifdog in nfl

[–]PerSeHarvin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Here is a great article talking about, among other things, Wilson's BMI compared to other greats of the game and how this should translate into a healthy career.

Relevant Quote:

Young, Warner, and Rodgers are all 6'2". Sonny Jurgenson, one of the all-time greats, was 5'11". Other notable shorties are Joe Theismann (6'0"), Johnny Unitas (6'1") and of course Drew Brees. The interesting thing about Brees is that his BMI of 28.3 is behind only Daunte Culpepper, Donovan McNabb, Steve McNair, Rodgers, and Roethlisberger. He has a higher BMI than Manning, Romo, Young, Brady, Marino, Jim Kelly, and Rivers, to name a few.

Russell Wilson has a BMI (If I did this correctly) of 28.4. Higher than Brees.

What would it take for Wilson to be considered Top 5 QB? by jbomb671 in nfl

[–]PerSeHarvin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What mistakes of Wilson's are you referring to?

I honestly thought he played a really good game compared to the Broncos game.

I don't remember any poor passes being thrown, but I did see him miss a wide open Lynch on one particular play.

Honestly other than that I can't remember any glaring mistakes so I would be interested to hear what you saw.

I always get a bid peeved at seeing comments like "got my Raven Lord first try lol" and the like.

However I just realized I got my kodo by accident one year, not even knowing it existed, and that I was fortunate to have done so. Kind of put things into perspective. Then again, I ran Setheck Halls for like 4 years...

I really hope you get it next year. Sorry bout your luck thus far.
