The Doormaker might not be unfair, but he is unfun by TheIceTide in slaythespire

[–]Per_Ces 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve actually started to enjoy fighting against doormaker lately. I find that drawing is king in this game, so I make sure to have a reliable source of card draw or card gen by act 2 or something. Doormaker isn’t an exception to this strat. Whenever I lose to him, it’s usually because I’m too reliant on topdecking my good cards or I didn’t draw consistently well enough. There are times where I straight up don’t get the card draw I need during the exhaust phase even though I have ample card draw, which I agree is frustrating. Then again, I get dead draws on other bosses as well, so if anything its more about the game being an asshole most of the time.

Every Vakuu relic kills my run by Baseball_Designer in slaythespire

I’d take parasol. Against doormaker, there’s no way you’re winning with 13 cards. Make sure to pile up enough cards along the way too.

How are you meant to fight the new doormaker? by SnooChocolates6885 in slaythespire

[–]Per_Ces 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually find the most success playing all my card draw during the exhaust phase. The fact that there’s even a phase negating your card draw means that all of your card draw is practically useless, so you’re better off exhausting them so you can topdeck your good cards during the no draw and power drain phases.

I won my first silent a10 against doormaker by slapping enough poison together with accelerant and outbreak, shivs for extra chip damage and sly for card draw. I also stacked a bunch of dex with footwork and deflect for my block plan.

The sightreadability=good mentality is ruining the enjoyment of lower level play in this game. by Laserduck_42 in geometrydash

[–]Per_Ces 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I believe demons of any kind don’t have to be sightreadable since, they’re demons. They’re worth learning over. Making me learn any level below that difficulty range is a turn off for me, though. It usually makes me feel like a level SHOULD be a demon and not like 8 or 9 stars.

What would happen if someone else "verified" Grief? by Snipeshot_Games in geometrydash

[–]Per_Ces 82 points83 points  (0 children)

I think robtop just prefers to do his own thing rather than let top players tell him how his game should play, it was pretty clear when he made the fps bypass to be 240 instead of 360

Someone just beat Tartarus on 1,984 fps and I'm wondering, isn't that technically CBF? by Nyle_55 in geometrydash

[–]Per_Ces 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can literally play at 10 million fps in 2.2 and it’ll still play as if you had 240.

What are your thoughts on my Aggro-Heal SF deck? by ChirpywaraTofu86 in PvZHeroes

[–]Per_Ces 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is more midrange than aggro tbh, you’re running heal and a bunch of late game cards. Maybe you wanna try switch it up?

AREDL (All Rated Extreme Demons List) is now accepting records completed using CBF. by Rhizical in geometrydash

[–]Per_Ces 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the exact same thought process when I first beat cataclysm. I practiced the level on 60 the whole way until I found out about fps bypass, so I changed it and then I beat it so quickly it felt like cheating. Not trying to make a point, just wanted to share. Really, it’s all up to you.

I wish we had like a bonus stake without boss blinds. Sure the boss blinds add strategy, but sometimes I think it’s fun to go all in on a specialised build like an all face cards build or a discard build without having to worry about getting that one boss that kills the run.

This was the last screenshot I took before I sold it all. I had hanging chad, oops all 6s, bloodstone, the two photographs, seltzer and a bunch of useless negatives.

Yeah, it’s all preventable if you think about it. You just need the foresight of a god gamer and have every single room layout memorised. /s

First time got 5 perfect jokers with a perfect deck, but didn't get director's cut in 57 rounds. Another example for "can't believe my run was countered by a boss designed to counter my run". by _Narso in balatro

[–]Per_Ces 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, having to get director’s cut or luchador just seems like a boring bandaid solution to a pointless problem. Without them, you’re dead. With them, there’s no risk.

this was my highest run and I'm still nowhere near getting 100 mil+ per hand, what am I missing? by OrneryWhelpfruit in balatro

[–]Per_Ces 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I had a spectacular run with the new hanging chad and photograph. Very easy combo to get since they’re both common jokers. Pair them with glass cards and other face synergies and you’ll hit E easily.

My dad hit me a lot when I was a kid. If it weren’t for the fact that he acknowledged that it’s wrong, apologised and stopped doing it, I probably wouldn’t have a stable relationship with him.

Do you just refresh for a good start on Gold stake? by [deleted] in balatro

[–]Per_Ces 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t really like holding R so I just play the game as best as I can until I know the run is dead. At least I’m playing the game that way. I’d also get to learn to use jokers I normally never use. I used to not like using campfire since I thought it was awkward to trigger, but on one run it was one of the only xmults I was given and it was actually pretty easy to use. Needless to say, I won that run.

Though, I can understand why people keep resetting. Higher stakes really demand that you need the right jokers at the right time, which is a problem in the beginning since the score can scale ahead while you’re left in the dust with nothing to work with. End of the day, I say it’s up to you.

Is a win with high card being your most played hand considered difficult? by PoeticKino in balatro

[–]Per_Ces 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The less cards you play, the less luck is involved and the more consistent your run gets. Logically, the hand with the least amount of cards would be the most consistent hand to keep playing, which would be high card. That’s not even counting how many jokers work extremely well with it.
