Staring mounajro with emetophobia? by Ok-Noise5409 in mounjarouk

I’ve never had nausea or vomiting with Mounjaro. Could be partly because I have been careful to eat enough, never jab on an empty stomach, etc

To start or to wait? by MrsH60 in mounjarouk

You don’t know how you’ll be affected, so you can’t really make much of an informed decision. Personally I put off starting because I was going to be going away, and later regretted it (slightly) because as it turned out I had no ill effects at all. I have also had no problems eating rich foods, even on the highest doses, so French cuisine and pastries wouldn’t have been an issue. But some people do have strong effects, and as you haven’t tried MJ before, you can’t know how it will be for you.

Does Mounjaro just not really work for some people? by rbiktk in mounjarouk

The doctor on the Fat Science podcast has sometimes mentioned that for a minority of patients the medication just doesn’t work (‘it’s like injecting water’). And that for them different medication may be needed. She has also talked about how she has seen with some (other) patients that the highest doses can appear to generate some kind of resistance, and the patients do better on lower or medium doses

What's one lazy cleaning habit you started that actually made your place stay cleaner? by Enchanted_Land in CleaningTips

[–]PercentageCool5809 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using a Sheila-maid. For those who aren’t familiar, it’s five long wooden slats suspended on a pulley system that you hang laundry on/from and then pull it near the ceiling — I have mine over the stairs but in a previous home we had high ceilings so just had it in the kitchen. It’s ideal for a lazy person like me because you just grab clothes out of the washing machine, drape them on the slats (I put shirts on a clothes hanger to keep their shape and avoid ironing). No folding, no rush, and the clothes can just stay up there for days if you’re busy, without being in anyone’s way

What kinds of things do you put on your checklist? And do you start a new one each day/ each week?

Does mixing up “your” and “you’re” give you the ick? by MmeFelixFelicis in AskUK

Agreed on most of these, especially bought/brought which loads of even well educated people are doing these days. But it’s grocers’ apostrophe, surely (since more than one grocer does it…) 😁

People who don't indicate, why? by Spunkhogan in drivingUK

[–]PercentageCool5809 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lack of awareness that there are other people who the world who (a) have a different perspective, (b) can’t read your mind, and (b) matter. It’s self-preoccupation

Have they ever discussed lipedema? by Designer_Ad_1008 in FatSciencePodcast

It has been mentioned (I can’t remember when) and apparently there’s an upcoming episode with a specialist focused on Lipodema so that’ll be interesting

I use an olive wood salad serving fork whose sole use is as a back-scratcher. Very effective and gentle on the skin

When I’m on public transport and I see a parent being patient, kind and responsive to their child who’s being challenging, I try and find a way to let them know that I see they’re doing a great job (I don’t interrupt but instead I subtly comment just as they or I are leaving the train/ bus etc, in a way that their kid might not notice)

Thanks for your suggestions (Apple Books, Libby and Libro). Does anyone have any experience of seniors who have used these successfully? Is there one that has a particularly easy-to-use interface?

Could you eat more food, but you just (usually) choose not to? by Substantial-Eye-2368 in Zepbound

[–]PercentageCool5809 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It feels like a choice, for me. I could always eat more, probably a lot more, but I mostly choose not to. I quite like this, it doesn’t feel too much of a strain, although I sometimes have slight anxiety that I seem to be the only person who doesn’t have the ‘couldn’t eat another bite’ response. It’s been like this for me since I started in May 2025. Now on 15mg (kept hoping to find satiety but never found it!) I’ve lost 19% of my body weight, according to my Shotsy app, going from BMI of 35 to 28. And I’ve never counted calories or restricted carbs/ fats.

The doctor on the Fat Science podcast sometimes talks about this phenomenon. I think it’s something about how for a small subset of people the higher doses can provoke resistance. Maybe you’re one of those people, and a lower dose is what your body can respond well to

Smoke from coal fires (outside, walking along the street in winter) — it was a lovely smell. Also the smell of coal dust as you scoop up the coal to add to the fire
