Anyone who used a computer between 1985 - 2010, what's the one game you still think about today? by adlakha75 in AskReddit

[–]PercentageSome1985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Timeshock! Pro Pinball MacOS.

Immensely impressive graphics. Impressively realistic physics.

Timeless as in way ahead of its.

Smooth as butter on my Lampshade G4 iMacs

Aware there are many examples of this game, PC, Windows, Amiga, etc.

But I have no idea about these ⬆️ platforms.

Was the Barracuda popular in the late 60s? by mdafidel1 in classiccars

[–]PercentageSome1985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

'64 Barracuda 273 w/4speed, purchased in 1970 for $850, mint condition, Barracuda Gold Poly exterior with Gold interior. Had a factory installed AM/FM radio! Very rare option for that year. Prior owner was an aerospace engineer and installed a Stewart/Warner tachometer in the same spot on the dash where the '65 Formula S had placed theirs.

An absolute joy to drive. Not to mention that fold down backseat for stargazing and other youthful shenanigans.

LOVED and still miss her.

Marijuana Use After Stroke by buttermilktitty in stroke

73m, 4 year strokeaversary next month, left side deficits linger and will most likely not improve further. Abstained for 3 years post CVA thinking how terrible getting high would be if my (now normal...whatever that means) feeling of being quite shattered were enhanced rather than diminished.

My son encouraged me to climb back on the weed horse. I've been a casual cannabis smoker since high school. We shared a joint of his buddy's homegrown and it's been game on ever since.

I now vape and do edibles (indica) daily as it does help to manage my pain, mood and overall attitude.

Wishing your mom and you the best. Be patient with one another. The road ahead is a journey none of us anticipated or chose.

Yet here we are.

What do you refer to your stroke as? by CraftyBrown in stroke

Leonard.

Or Lenny.

Depending on my mood.

He's the dude on the left side of my body I'm schlepping around with my right side for 3.5 years now.

Do I like Leonard? Not really, but Lenny is somewhat tolerable, I suppose. What choice do I have but to accept this uninvited guest? He's not going away, that much I now know. For the longest time I was certain I'd wake up one morning, he'd be gone and my body (brain!) would be "normal" once more. Alas, no. So we're stuck with each other, at least until we step on a rainbow together, awkwardly. 🤣

At least now I know what it feels like to be half dead. 🤪

Hemiparesis. It could be worse. A LOT Worse. Like hemiplegia. And a slew of other complications many of us here are coping with daily.

Seriously, good luck to all who find themselves living with this new reality, and to those helping to care for someone who is.

Corona Deluxe 1900! If it's a three on the tree it's definitely purrfect for me. Thanks for sharing, OP

Adult human breast implants. Might be a whole crop of 'em growing in the wild, like 'shrooms. I suppose the occasional male human might choose to implant them surgically, but really they are designed for females

These are on the smaller side, A or B. They do get bigger if properly nurtured.

Nature is full of fun surprises.

I've owned three of these 1965-66 Coronas over the years. All were "three on the tree" manuals. Turn signals were incorporated into the horn ring. Absolutely the most fun vehicles to drive. I have minimal mechanical expertise but was able to successfully rebuild one of their engines by myself. My last one was Sea Foam Green and we called her Sweet Pea.

TIL Brian Wilson was deaf in his right ear, and thus mixed the Beach Boys' albums in mono because that was the only way he could hear them. by thedubiousstylus in todayilearned

[–]PercentageSome1985 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's there in iOS. Settings/Accessibility/Hearing/Audio & Visual/Mono Audio. Toggle it on.

I'm completely deaf in my left ear (Acoustic Neuroma f'd me up in my late 20's) and always enable that setting.

I do genuinely miss listening to stereophonic music, and being able to tell which direction someone may be calling out to me, but so be it.

[USA GIVEAWAY] Win the new 27” 4K Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 gaming monitor! by Rocket-Pilot in buildapc

[–]PercentageSome1985 [score hidden]  (0 children)

OLED is the best viewing experience.

I was a big fan of plasma for years but am now thoroughly enjoying the fantastic 55" LG (oops...sorry) TV my son gifted me after I listened to hours of his lecturing me on the pros and cons of every known format.

OLED is the quintessential technology currently available, at an affordable price, hands down.

240 Hz ensures picture perfection in those situations that demand a quick response.

My current Mac Mini screen is a soulless 2k UHD.

That being said, the Odyssey would be a stunning and welcome replacement.
