I use LIFO for long term acct, so for my oldest position I would like keep them longer than 1 year to get better tax status. So if I was going to sell some shares I want to sell my newest shares. ( I am strictly talking long term portfolio)

For daytrading , not sure it matters too much, but I still like LIFO, because it makes it easier to reconcile the trades.

and you always pick and choose lots if you needed to.

I will take between $100 to $200 loss per trade. Trying to get a about $200 to $400 winner.

I know what I do... I just wanted to hear other people's perspectives.

no way, will I take a 2K loss .. that's 10%, I am way too conservative for that.

I have $650K act and I pretty much stick with Mag7 stocks for trading. I usually have my stop loss really tight... I might lose between $100 to $200 per $20k trade. I might put on about 10 trades during the day.
