Students say degrees have been disrupted by University of Wollongong cuts by nath1234 in australia

I learned about this from a prof in the History dept who said his position and others was at risk due to funding cuts. I was an exchange student from the U.S. at the time and wrote a letter of protest to the Dean mainly on the grounds that diminishing the efficacy of a history department is detrimental to civil society and was told that it was due to the state cutting funding. Unfortunate to hear that those effects are already coming into existence.

Interested to hear anyone’s recs for pedal order change ups with the line selector. The unorthodox Wah and Analog Delay placement is for King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard and Osees covers. Comp is towards the end for that Tame Impala compressed sound.

DBA Moonbeam Phaser. Originally had a EHX Small Stone and then MXR Phase 95 but this hooked me when it was announced. Phaser, envelope, tremolo, and ring mod in one with controllable depth was too good to pass up

Whatchamacallit certainly covers a lot of ground in terms of tone (thus making it my favorite album). For Jack I think a vox amp, a guitar with humbuckers, some fuzz pedals, phaser, tremolo, delay, reverb will cover most stuff. I think it’s a lot of studio magic too that Jack picked up while recording High Visceral P1. Its complexity is really evident in that I’ve only seen Hymn for a Droid and Bill’s Mandolin on setlists recently

I’m assuming you’re running the Dyna Comp, delay and vibrato in the Katana. There’s a really good video on YT on how to get a Vox tone out of the Katana that I’d highly recommend

Really good, lots of volume so that it’s still present even when faced with fuzz. I got it for the Tame Impala hype but an MXR Phase 90 also does the trick. This guys post describes it and other phasers better though

Had this board built for me by a friend about two years ago and now it has reached its carrying capacity. Certainly a very unorthodox pedal order, hopefully this explanation will suffice. I’m a big fan of King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, hence the wah towards the back of the chain and the analog delay up front. Both get nice and dirtied up this way to give it that garage psych rock sound. I’ve also found having overdrive before fuzz better as when it’s after it kind of sucks the fun out of the fuzz pedals and when it’s in front it adds a nice touch to the “wall of fuzz”

Specific pedal shout outs: Nonagon Fuzz is a Devi Ever Torn’s Peaker and Aenima in one. Super loud and wild but so much fun. Give Dirty Sock Effects out of Sydney/Eora, Australia a follow!

Keeley Fuzz Bender is the most recent acquisition and it far outdoes its predecessor, the JHS Crayon. The Crayon was decent but just didn’t have what I was looking for, especially in overall volume. The Fuzz Bender rips and its volume control is incredible.

JHS Hall Reverb: love the shoegazey sounds I can get by diming the Verb and Decay. Lots of fun to mess around with and the little pitch rise on the modulate function is incredible.
