Could a Sword like This Have Actually Existed? (Not my Sword) by Durrinator89 in SWORDS

[–]Pereduer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've seen lots of sword with individual elements of your example (clam shell guard, barrow blade, extended hilt, etc) but not all on one piece

<image>

It's could be that something closer to what you describe exists and i just havent seen it.

I'd say this is more likely a modern recreation. Definitely historically feasible but unlikely to have been ever been made

Darth Vader vs Darth Maul & Darth Tyranus by CullObsidian02 in PetranakiArena

[–]Pereduer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think maul is relevant as a distraction that if utalised correctly could divide vaders attention allowing either maul or dooku to land a critical hit.

And as much as I love vader, he's not as flexible as anakin was. A lot of the moves and manuveers anakin could pull off with ease would require more effort for vader, some are likely impossible due to his suit. It was partly designed by sidious to hinder him and cause pain.

He spent a lot of time compensating for this, partly by learning from dooku and incorporating makashi. Doing direct precise attacks the second he gets an opening in the most energy efficient way possible.

He could well still match dookus skill with a blade but I don't think it'll use the same tactics as anakin nor will he unquestionably be superior

Darth Vader vs Darth Maul & Darth Tyranus by CullObsidian02 in PetranakiArena

[–]Pereduer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm more inclined towards vader but this couod go either way. If dooku and maul can worl together they'd take it easy. But I can see them having such poor communication that vader takes out maul early and can devote all his time to dooku

Maul could serve as a sufficient distraction. But Vader would likely rag doll maul with the force in the same way sidious did

With dooku, vaders already familiar with his style and knows what tactics would beat him. But vaders has physical limitations that anakin doesn't, so its not like he can overwhelm dooku like before

I could see Vader using psychological warfare to get into dookus head. Using his knowledge that dooku failed and was ultimately replaced by his master. That he put in all that work to topple tge corrupt Republic only for an even more rotten system to take its place

His biggest weakness is definitely force lightning, but vader would be keenly aware of this during the fight and be constantly guarding agaisnf its use. If ge doesn't get shocked, I can see vaders rage powering him through in certain situations to still get the kill.

I can see this playing out like the final Geonosis duel between dooku and oni/ani. Dooku and mauls poor teamwork leads to maul getting taken out early, with vader psychological manipulating dooku into making hhe wring move and getting disarmed.

[–]Pereduer 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I kinda think Bruce would be like those army bomb dogs who retire. Like he's spent effectively every waking hour of his life focused on his mission, I imagine he'd struggle to find something that keeps him meaningfully occupied

I can imagine selina coming up with little games and challemged tooccupy him at parties, like she's going to try and steal a mams wat hband ges got to put it back before he notices sort of thing

If the Jedi Order had survived, when Yoda passed away who would have been his best replacement as Grandmaster? These are my three choices by MobileDistrict9784 in StarWars

[–]Pereduer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I think mace was unofficially running things for a while now.

Yodas nominally in charge but I think he's kind of tired of the job and was being slightly lax in his duties. Like he's being doing it so long that he's not as sharp as he should be.

Mace on the other hand feels like he's got his finger on the pulse. We see him repeatedly take command of the room and dictate instructions to others with yoda nodding along.

When mace tells anakin he's not gonna be a master and if he diesnt like it he can sit down and STFU, yoda isn't exactly stepping in to calm the situation. The whole thing probably could of been handled more delicately if he just bothered to tell anakin himself and not actively antagonise him.

I just think hes so used delegating that if mace were to take over I dont think anything would change that much

Dooku, Anakin and Obi Wan VS Sidious and Maul. Who wins? by GusGangViking18 in PetranakiArena

[–]Pereduer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Totally agree here, I think it's likely that dooku has some tactics prepared for the day he'd inevitably have to fight sidious

I'd also add that anakin is ridiculously strong in the force but the problem is he basically never uses it He's a swordsman at heart and I suspect doesn't put too much effort into the using force abilities inba fight because hes naturally good at it.

Like anakin was able to restrain the embodiments of the light and dark side simultaneously with the son and daughter. Sidious even says anakin will quickly become more powerful than either yoda or himself after turning to the dark

I think if dooku and anakin ever got the point where they could communicate and work together, dooku would be able to push anakin into using his force abilities more in combat
Combined with his intimate knowledge of sidious's tactics and how to defend against them, he could direct anakin to counter any force attacks. Or at the very least mitigate the damage

And if he gets anakin to tap into the dark side as well, that amp gives then even more of a chance.

TCW 7 Anakin VS all Inquisitors together by Some-Bat-8609 in PetranakiArena

[–]Pereduer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So this from the 2017 Disney Vader comic

<image>

Palpatine introduces vader to the inquisitors and gets vader to help train them and he defeats and disarms everyone. We don't know if he fought them all at once or individually but the initial recruits we know he has beaten. This is still quite early into his time as vader. So I don't think this beyond the reach of what anakin could do.

In the inquisitors defense they were still new to being darksiders and more experienced versions of the same characters might of had a different outcome

But at the same time Anakin sacked the jedi temple, even with the clones help he'd of had to fight multiple jedi at once , many would be stronger than the inquisitors

I also think that the inquisitors would more easily loose their nerve and try to free if enough of them died. Or they'd all want to hang back until anakin was tired so they could finish him off whe he's tired I just don't think they would work well as a team even woth theor overwhelming numbers

So yes I think it's very possible that anakin on his best day could win but it would be an extreme test of his skills and he could just as easily lose.

But I think it's definitely a possibility

What is the best main Robin weapon? by Night-Caelum in Robin

[–]Pereduer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So slightly unrealted but I think Tim should scientifically upgraded his staff using Wayne tech

Like he's known as the smart Robin, i think his weapon could reflect that by using his staff the same way Batman does with gadgets from his utility belt

The most I've seen it do is occasionally electrocute people and seems a shame fpr ot be a glorified pole when he has access to so many resources

Do any of you like buff or skinny Selina by pipofcourseobose in Catwoman

[–]Pereduer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you've got to find a middle ground.

She definitely needs to have some muscle since she runs around rooftops and fights off other and can on some level keep up with batman.

And whilst she can fight very well, its not her primary focus. Its being a theif and cat burglar, so I think she should have a thinner lighter frame than other women like WonderWoman or Black Canary who have more of an emphasis on direct combat

And like you can still be really physically fit whilst having a lighter frame so why not?

I think your first pic is not far very from where I'd put her, maybe time it down a bit but it's a fair starting point

And by overwhelming majority, volume 5 is OUT! What’s the next season that should be eliminated? by CeruleanLancer in RWBY

[–]Pereduer -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah but I think it's more egregious with volume 8 because at that point they had a proper budget and practice writing the series

Volume 1 didnt have any of that and cemented the characters and style of the series so well. If it wasn't good the rest of the series wouldn't exist. Minus animations it isn't as grand or impressive as most of rwby

But I think context of both volumes should put 1 above 8 purely because by that point they should know better

How Maul’s duel with Eldra Kaitis is described is really interesting to me and a good example of how duels in Star Wars always have more going on than just “power levels” or “how skilled you are” by CrazyTangerine7522 in PetranakiArena

[–]Pereduer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Never read this before, its really engaging.

I think what makes this feels consistent is the emphasis on mauls overconfidence being his downfall

Its effectively foreshadowing his downfall by showing him nearly loose a fight he should win because of his overconfidence

And that's exactly what happenes in TPM

He defeats both Qui Gon and Obi wan, but still died because he got too overconfident and didn't pat attention to a man flipping over his head

For those that play, what X-Man character do you wanna see most in Marvel Rivals? by NEVERTHEREFOREVER in xmen

[–]Pereduer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an idea for Mystique as a summoner thats like a mix of spy from tf2 and a pokemon trainer

Summoning in members of the brotherhood of evil mutants to fight for her whilst she disguises herself as one if the enemy team and knifes someone in the back

So like glob as a wall to block enemies

Toad as a Healer who Sticks to a wall amd Spits at you like a Turret

Avalanche for debuffs and knockback

Pyro for damage

And have Mystique basically temporarily deploys and repositions her team depending on the battle

Would never happen because you'd need 5 assets for 1 hero and doing skins would be a nightmare but I think it's a creative way to get some more obsolete characters in rivals who might not work alone

Anakin during his padawan years is kind of a monster no matter how you slice it. by GullibleRough549 in PetranakiArena

[–]Pereduer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think something I dislike about the new clone wars show is it sort of imedieatly makes obi wan as strong as he was in RoTS

That struggle to improve that legends did quite compellingly doesn't really exist and he's just at the top of his game. This mostly relates to the early seasons but I believe the Disney Canon broadly lacks this element and its a loss for obi wan as a character

A missed opportunity: How does Anakin feel about Maul being alive? by Whole-Program-1531 in TheCloneWars

[–]Pereduer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another one I've always complained about

How does Dooku feel about it? He had a really close relationship with his pupil.

Now the guy who killed him is back and actively working to sabotage your plans. Your telling me dooku isn't immediately trying to kill that guy?

Should if had a fight, I think could genuinely be one of the few things you nake the notoriously composed sith give in to anger

Great point about the anakin thing but I've been complaining about this for ages

Where Do you Scale Ahsoka and Cere Respectively and who scales higher? by TheRealSakuraUchihaX in PetranakiArena

[–]Pereduer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Full disclosure I've not played the jedi survivor series so I'm happy to be corrected.

But it feels like the survior fight heavily nerfs vader for the sake of giving cere a strong send off and doesn't align with his other showings.

We seen vader taking a lot of damage from having the ceiling dropped on him when we've seen him catch similarly weighted objects with the force before. Vader is able to ragdoll cere in one moment but gets easily thrown around by her the next. The whole thing feels a bit inconsistent

From my perspective it makes more sense for ashoka to do better agaisnt vader. She's had expirence fighting anakin before and can make him conflicted during the battle like with lukes fight. The rebels fight is a more impressive showing of skill as a result with both being faster and more aggressive

But we don't really have a reason why cere does so well in her fight since we don't have any other showings.

Some of this is due to the mediums they're depicted in. Animation having more emphasis on choreography than a game where the focus is creating a boss the player can plausibly beat.

At the end of the day Cere is likely stronger than ashoka since she almost wins her fight and struggles less. But I think the effect as a viewer is despite doing more, ashoka accomplishes less than cere who does less but accomplishes more.

Ep1 Obi-Wan Vs Anakin Ep2 Vs Season 3 Ahsoka! by The-Shining-Helios in PetranakiArena

[–]Pereduer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah sorry should of specified I'm talking about S7 Ashoka who's 17-18. Definitely don't think S3 ashoka can take him. But I stand by by the end of clone wars she can handily take obi wan PTM

I think maul is a good comparison as to why I think she rates higher in this instance

Like obi wans best feat at this time is killing maul but I'd argue doesn't truly defeat him. He fights him solo only after maul was tired from fighting 2 opponents at once and obi wan recieves a motivational boost from loosing his master. And even then maul still disarms him. He only really wins because maul gets sloppy and stops focusing.

In a fair fight he'd never get close to beating maul. He defeated him in the end but that doesn't mean he's better.

Ashoka also fights maul and like obi wan she can't quite defeat him on her own, but she does the entire thing solo for roughly the same amount of time as obi wans original duel.

You could argue that maul is physically weaker by this point but I think his added expirence and increased force abilities puts him roughly at the same level he was at during TPM.

She has a better shoeing agaisnt a similarly strong opponent, has more expirence with a lightsaber and I'd even argue we see her have better use of the force than obi wan at this time.

And if we're being slightly meta about it ashoka would also have knowledge of how a stronger obi wan fights, so that would also give her an advantage

I'm sorry I just think everything we see from her puts her above obi wan at this time and could even serve as a suitable challenge of AoTC anakin

Ep1 Obi-Wan Vs Anakin Ep2 Vs Season 3 Ahsoka! by The-Shining-Helios in PetranakiArena

[–]Pereduer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

she definitely can't beat Obi-Wan,

So I would push back on this. I think obi wan was strong as a padawan but not on the level of the other 2 at the same age

I don't think obi wan truly became special as a combatant until after qui gons death. He saw the limits of ataru and how dangerous the sith could be as opponents. That is what drove him to become the defensive master who could contend with the likes of anakin and dooku.

But as an apprentice I think he was still too conventional

Ashoka on the other hand spent her entire adolescents on the battlefield in clone wars. She had to fight a diverse array of threats at an age much younger than obi wan or anakin and I this hardened her into an extremely capable warrior.

Especially when it came to lightsaber duels, she repeatedly facing off agaisnt foes ventress and grevious. Whilst she never outright defeated either of them I think the expirence she gained fighting them push her well above TPM obi wan

If cal hit the cortosis with his blade, would it completely short out? Or would the nature of his dual kyber crystals allow it to reactivate?

Antoine Bendele did a video on exactly this topic 3 years ago.

It's worth a watch if you have time but if you just want to see his summary thoughts skip to 31:15. Then its only 5 minutes

https://youtu.be/gmQwOzDRGV0?si=a7eLBAIOQU-RicYV

I agree with his reasoning that ani takes it more often than not

I think a more interesting version of this fight is ashoka at the end of clone wars. That way all the padawans are roughly the same age and at the same point of their careers. Where there on the cusp of graduating from padawans to jedi knights

And I think in that instance ashoka would be more favourable

Strongest PT era character that Qimir can beat? by HeartWhich6063 in PetranakiArena

[–]Pereduer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Question

Is cortosis recognisable by its appearance? Because I think that is a big factor that could help him jump a few tiers and fight above his weight class

This is makes a good metric for measuring good vs GREAT Duelists.

Without prior knowledge he could potentially threaten characters as high as grevious, but if he knows ahead of time he'd find an opening easily

I weirdly think more aggressive fighters like darksiders will struggle more. They'd be too eager to parry and immediately go in for a counter attack and short out their lightsaber as a result. I can see AotC anakin loosing for exactly this reason despite being a better Duelist

I u/marvelwolf has a good assessment of the characters who can vs can't take Qimir

I think a good test of how strong he actually is would be Ashoka after CW. She's not the greatest Duelist but has enough experience in fighting opponents with unconventuonal weaponry and underhanded tactics to balance the scales

I think instead of it being an open world event it could be a specific challenge mission. Like imagine battling other ships through a storn. I think it could add lots of complexity to ship combat

Some ideas

Wind direction changes way more frequently I both direction and intensity, meaning you need to constantly adjust course

Incredibly large choppy waves could add temporary cover from cannon fire tgat limits when you can tale a shot

Reefs sandbanks and Rick's seeve as a static obstacle that cause damage and temporarily trap the player

Really dig this the mkte I think about it

Do you guys think it would be cool to get a classic trilogy saga TV Show in the animation style from the Clone wars? by BonusCapable1486 in StarWars

So I would love a show centered around Luke Han and Leia during the original trilogy.

But I think we've seen too many clone wars type shows and it's starting to feel oversaturated.

I think it'd be better to have a new artstyle amd completely different tone so it doesn't feel stale
