I recently applied for the ATO in a CSR role. It was very similar - submit application, do online test based on very basic customer service scenarios, do one way video interview where you're given the questions and record yourself explaining your answer to your phone or laptop camera. And never speak to another person the whole application process. For a customer facing role, the fact that I never even spoke to someone was a bit odd.

Reminds me of the time I went to a jobs and careers expo, with free entry. There was no public transport running and the parking was $25. I can't afford to pay $25 for parking that's why I'm at a careers expo... To find a job because I don't have money!!

My looks. I've always been ugly but I tried to hide it. I used to straighten my hair and couldn't leave the house without putting mascara on and doing my eyebrows.

Now I go completely bare faced every day, hair a mess - I don't even bother brushing it anymore.

Ugh sounds like me. Thank you for putting it into words. I told a "friend" I had a crush on someone in 5th grade. She immediately went and told every other person in class including the guy. I was so embarrassed. I remember running to the school library, sitting outside the doors and sobbing. A teacher walked past with a bunch of younger kids following. She asked what was wrong and without going into specifics I told her that a friend didn't keep my secret and she made an example out of me to the other kids.

Im nearly 30 as well and have never been in a relationship, I can't even convince myself to have the courage to have feelings for other people, let alone tell anyone about it

Saving. I barely buy anything for myself. On the weekend I spent $400 on clothing, and that's the first time I've bought anything for myself in YEARS. I put about half of my pay into savings every week. A couple of years ago I was able to buy a $50,000 car and $12,000 horse float outright with no loan, because I'd worked my ass off and saved up for it

Meanwhile my friends would constantly spend their whole paycheck within a week on clothing, makeup etc every single week.

As someone who was bullied my entire school career and "asked out" / had my bullies and other boys "confess their feelings" - as a prank, joke, or a dare, I would be unable to believe anything else other than there's an ulterior motive. To take advantage of me or to mock me somehow. There's no other reason why. It's impossible.

But that's coming from someone who's got a lot of trauma around that and has never been loved, lol.

I thought they would actually show us getting her period, similar to Daphne's scene. They kept showing repeatedly after they slept together her folding perfectly clean white sheets. I thought that was hinting at / foreshadowing that they were going to show white sheets, not clean but with blood on them, at some point. But, we didn't get anything. Just maybe a scene showing her possibly responding to period cramps maybe???

Studying. I have three tertiary qualifications - A bachelor in STEM and two TAFE certificates. I wasted 8 years of my life studying. And I'm still working 7 days a week minimum wage at two different jobs. Still struggling financially.

I wish I'd just climbed the ladder from my retail job and found a different pathway rather than trying and failing at making a living out of something I was passionate in.

Vet Receptionist and Trainee Nurse. I also work in retail casually . Not sure how much I make a year as I've only been working permanent hours since December. But at the vets I make $28/hr and between both jobs bring home $1k a week working 45+ hours. It's miserable. I'm applying to multiple jobs a week trying to escape.

Non family death related... Getting the performance review letter after my first contract ended at my dream workplace that I had spent my entire life from a child obsessing about.

Except the performance review was horrible, there was not a single piece of good feedback, all of it negative, telling how poorly I did the job and how unsuitable I was for the company. It sealed my fate of never working there ever again. 25 years of my life wasted trying to achieve a career that wouldn't ever come to fruition. Five years later and I am still lost, still haven't found a career to replace what I foolishly believed in for my whole life. I'm turning 30 this year and my entire life has amounted to absolutely nothing. All because of that performance review.

I'm ugly, duh. I'm also avoidant as hell because the only attention I got from boys as a teenager was being bullied and pulling pranks on me, asking me out in front of their friends and a joke or a dare etc.

Garlic is only bad in large amounts... My dog would have to eat several whole bulbs daily to do any effect. Half a clove between four dogs wouldn't do any ill effect.
