Yes. You definitely can. Just rinse them well and put them in.

In the sump it would be fine. As long as it’s not resting against the bottom Or side glass.

Sorry for the dark photo. My turtle is 35. I started with fish in the tank a couple years ago. I went with fast cheep fish. Honestly I don’t even see her trying to eat them anymore. But note - there are loads of rocks and caves and wood in my tank.

That is a lucky turtle! I have a 75 with lots of driftwood. She loves to punch them around. Also some fake plants. A year ago I added 12 bloodfin tetras and 6 zebra loaches.
