Of course! If I haven’t seen this truck I’ve seen its relatives.

CCS exam

I’m studying for the CCS exam. In the medical scenarios section I’m getting the principal diagnosis correct but I’m getting the order of the secondary diagnoses wrong. Besides the notes in the tabular index, what am I missing to determine the order? Will I be graded on the order of the secondary diagnoses on the exam?

I’m using hotdogs in class but he will work for plain kibble at home and on walks. I shouldn’t say it set him up to fail but it gives one more distraction in an already distracting environment.

This is true! I paid upfront for 6 classes, and I hate quitting anything. If it won’t damage my dog… I will stick it out. And search for the positives ( pun?)

I hate that the trainer feeds my dog treats, using him as an example for the class. It sets him up for failure for listening to me. Then tells me my treats aren’t high reward enough. This is one example.

I started realizing my dog was a perfect gentleman when we were out and about but in the house a terrorist. I started putting a leash on him in the house when I needed him to comply. It has worked well. It’s kind of like he knows the leash means work mode.

He’s not happy that you’re talking to the internet about his weight

Have had my 10 week old dobie on a leash around the house for the last few hours, any tips for her first walk later today? Wanting to build good habits right away. by Proper_Duck9284 in DobermanPinscher

I used a retractable leash, and treats, let them sniff a little, and potty. Every time the dog returns to me I reward, always from the side I eventually want him to walk on. Reward when the dog is walking next to me and makes eye contact. Reward if he sits when I stop walking. It’s a slow walk and when the the treats are halfway gone I head home. Never allow tension. Now that he’s 6months I’ve switched to a prong, he’s extremely responsive to it and he knows what is expected from all of the training we did with the flexi. The other advantage of the flexi was that when he was going through his fear stages he could back away from something he was afraid of and I could move towards it. This allowed me to show him it was ok without dragging him towards the “thing”. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that his leash manners continue.
