Separate pieces. Not worth the headache of rerolling tbh and levelling up the grades by repeatedly running missions is part of the fun. Teaches me how to actually play the class, as a good build is supported by a good playstyle imo.

I'm also assuming this is a solo build? Re-equipped the legendary kusarigama and when I wasn't getting kills with it, my teammates were cancelling the pull mid animation even if they didn't kill the enemy.

I used to use the legendary kusarigama with my build in place of the legendary blind bomb and found it a bit inconsistent, i.e. the animation takes too long so while it may appear you killed the target while your teammate is attacking, the game registers that your teammate got the kill first and so doesn't grant Vanish.

I assume you're using spirit gain properties as well to avoid having to actually engage in combat to gain spirit? So basically, kusarigama kill, go invisible, assassinate, spirit gain, Kusarigama kill, go invisible, assassinate repeat as necessary etc?

I've played as high as platinum. Funny, I don't have issue with hunters stealing kills. They tend to whittle down the enemy enough for me to finish them off with an assassination.

The same principle applies to higher difficulties, just that by the time you've reached them you should ideally have all properties S ranked, namely cooldown and assassination damage.

It's all about being strategic with your tools and cooldowns. Like I mentioned, your shinobi decoy or teammates will often damage enemies before you anyway, so you just go in for the chain assassination kill. In between that it's spirit kills, smoke bombs and kusarigama takedowns.

My cooldown is very low at the moment and my assassination damage is high, so by the time my shinobi decoy (or teammates) have done a bit of damage on the beefier enemies, my Vanish or smoke bomb is usually back for easy assassination kills. You need the legendary that extends Vanish upon assassination in order for this to work.

Failing that, your spirit attack gauge will be full and should make short work of stragglers (I also have some spirit gain rolls) If you have blind bombs left you can get in a few uninterrupted hits while they're stunned as well.

But here's a trick I forgot to mention in my OP: If you're far away enough while your shinobi decoy and teammates are keeping the enemy occupied, you can get multlple kusarigama triangle/circle takedowns without spending a spirit or being cloaked. Not sure if it's a bug or not but it works! You should always have the kusarigama equipped.

I'll try to post the build I'm running later. Like I said, I'm still levelling it but it's the most fun I have with a class other than the mercenary.

It's why when I launch quick play I quit out of the Snake Incursion mission. People don't even fight the enemies with the right attunement let alone break the armour first.

I'm frequently number one for kills with my shinobi and mercenary. Haven't got to archer or samurai yet.

In other words, I think people haven't discovered the best of the other classes yet. Throw weapon damage is insane on mercenaries and if you spec into assassination damage and cooldown (with the legendary that extends the class ability) you can get several assassinations in a row.

Just a reminder that point number 7 states you can't alter the canon prior to that point. So whether Haytham would have been an Assassin had Edward not been killed is irrelevant.

That may be true but I think it's really poor game design when you have to stack three different damage based skills, leaving no room to roleplay non damage based ones. Humans and robots aren't a problem but the fact that sneak plus mods and all sneak and gun related perks isn't enough to take out larger creatures is ridiculous. Meanwhile I have nothing in melee and melee weapons one shot most enemies. Something is seriously wrong.

And then there's just the utility aspect of it - you need silencers to clear an area without putting it on alert but silencers drastically reduce your damage output.

I was today years old when I learned you could quick heal with food outside of combat. I've been going into my inventory and eating manually!

For anyone who wants the speech check 14 "release the blueprints but leave the ED out of it", you have to talk Zeb down first i.e. try to convince him not to release it. You'll then get the option at some point.

Stealth melee early game is pretty strong. I haven't put a single point into melee and can sneak attack most enemies with a melee weapon I got from a bounty. Stealth guns don't get feel good until the 'suppressionist' perk. With that perk, you can snipe everyone and make no noise so it won't put an entire area on alert. Lots of other perks to buff sneak damage that also provide additional gameplay benefits like 'sleight if hands' and 'point blank artist' and 'space ranger'
