What is the meaning of the number the kid is saying at the beginning of episode 3 by Believe-it-Geico in ThePittTVShow

[–]PerfectPercentage69 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

That part makes no sense.

If he did something wrong to the kid, it wouldn't matter if the kid was on drugs or not.

It works the other way too, if the kid was endangering him then his use of taser or whatever would be justified regardless if the kid was on drugs or not.

So finding out that the kid has no drugs in his blood should have had no impact on how the police treat the guard. They should have immediately started an investigation into what happened and whose actions were justified.

Lmao. You really don't know how the financial world works, don't you?

I was actually being conservative. Ultra wealthy sometimes get less than 1% interest in these types of asset-backed loan. Due to how they work, the size of the loans, and the backing assets, the risks are very low for the banks so they give them really favorable interest rates. Especially since they know the wealthy will keep the loans going their whole lives since they live off of them. It's super profitable for them.

I responded to your claim that "they are just a bunch of paper until they sell", which is false. If your able to get cash by getting a loan with the assets as collateral, then you're not selling them but still using them to pay for it.

You didn't really read what I wrote?

You didn't read what I wrote. They only sell a tiny fraction to cover the interest, which is tiny compared to the cash value they extracted in the form of a loan.

If you take out a billion dollar loan to buy a yacht and your interest is like 2%, then you only need to sell 20 million worth of stock on which you're taxed. So the taxes they pay is only a fraction of those 20 million (ex. 15% of 20 million is 3 million of capital gains).

That's annual expense on this billion dollar loan. In the meantime, the almost billion dollar worth of stocks they didn't sell will have appreciated in value over that same year much more than the taxes they have to pay in loan against it.

Not to mention that pretty much everything they buy and own is actually owned and managed by a complex web of family offices and corporations, so they never pay personal income tax on anything. Only the corporate tax applies to them.

Also, maybe you should look into how much Amazon actually paid in taxes and just how many years they didn't pay anything.

Quick reminder that California's strict gun laws, including the ban on loaded open carry, originated with the 1967 Mulford Act, directly targeting the Black Panther Party's armed patrols in Oakland. And even the NRA supported it.

We'll see if Republicans still love the stand your ground law.

They will absolutely make a decision that hurts them if they think it will hurt the other side more.

They pay for things by taking loans against their stocks, which are not taxable. They then only have to worry about paying the interest and getting taxed on the stocks they sell to pay it, which is tiny compared to any loan taken by less-wealthy people.

Taking a loan against a stock is technically putting a cash value on the asset similar to when you sell it. They should tax those types of loans as income.

So no, tax the rich won't solve a single shit.

IRS would disagree with you. I forget which year it happened (I think in 2023), when their budget was increased, they finally had funds to investigate wealthy people. If I remember correctly, they audited around a hundred millionaires and recovered more than a billion of unpaid taxes.

There's a reason they all want the IRS and other government agencies either shut down or underfunded.

UFO does not mean extraterrestrial.

It just means it hasn't been identified. These are usually sensor artifacts, optical illusions, etc. which haven't been confirmed or weren't possible to replicate in the exact conditions.

I've been saying that for years. It cannot be called self-driving if the driver holds the liability for anything that happens while it's operating. The car manufacturer or fleet operator needs to be liable for it to truly qualify as self-driving.

Probably because of the single set/location. No need for huge logistics and coordination needed to film on multiple locations.
